  1. Do you soothe your customers with the gentle strains of John Williams?
  2. Wait till you see my next avatar...(Monkey Island based of course!)
  3. Good. The DAMN YOU, DAMN YOU post was on standby.
  4. Given that and where you live, I'd bet money that you and my dad work for the same company. I'm currently unemployed. I worked as a substitute teacher until the end of last month, not a regular job by any means. And I'm going to be going to graduate school in the fall.
  5. Actually, just to be nitpicky... Sirius wasn't afraid of breaking, he thought it was too obvious that he should be the Secret Keeper, and that no one would think that they would trust someone like Wormtail with that responisibility.
  6. Mike Mattesino. Complete and cronological, with tons of bonuses. Enough said.
  7. I quite like The Forest Battle concert piece from the ROJ SE. It's longer than the film cue, has an incredible ending, and even incorporated the little comic bit that was in the original Sail Barge Assault cue. The first time I ever heard anything from Hook outside the film was at the Williams concert I went to in 1999. Flight to Neverland, The Never Feast, and Remembering Childhood were played. It was the influence that made me go out and buy the CD (and eventually d/l most of the boot off some website that doesn't exist anymore). But I can't say how they compared to the cues, I haven't heard the concert pieces since.
  8. Gotta go with Joe on this one. The MWPP history is important to future events in the series. People complain about how putting too much from the books makes movies too long, but it would have taken no time at all to put in a few extra lines of dialogue to get the history in there.
  9. If it's true, thank God. But I doubt it is.
  10. Question answered. Thanks everyone. I like that theory.
  11. Here's a random HP question I just thought of: Did Williams read the books prior to writing the scores? I remember an article that mentioned he read SS before starting work on it and he loved it. So did he continue and at least read COS and POA before working on them?
  12. Yeah,me too,it's kind of disturbing if you think about it.My worst nightmare is that for some unforseen reason he can't do it.After Ep3,i don't really mind what he scores or not and I'll take it one score at a time.I hope he does the next Potter or Indy if it happens, but it's not as important to me. K.M. Same here. Ep. III is everything. I'll look forward to GOF once it gets closer, but nothing will be like Ep. III when it comes out. And I think that WoW has great potential, I'm just not gonna get worked up about it until it's confirmed that it's actually filming or something.
  13. Episode III no question. The completion of Williams' greatest work. Goblet of Fire will be great too. I have serious doubts if Indy 4 or War of the Worlds will ever be made. How many times has someone said Spielberg was doing something the last several years only to have it never happen. Anyone remeber Memoirs of a Geisha? And I know there's more that I can't remember the titles of.
  14. "The eyes are open, the mouth moves, but Mr. Brain has long since departed."- Edmund Blackadder CD makers will never learn...
  15. If you've got a copy of Temple of Doom you're a lot better off than some of us here. Where did you get it?
  16. Sounds very cool, I actually would have sat in with the kids to see this! Good choice of Chamber of Secrets too. It's one of my favorite JW main title cues ever, and still my favorite quote of Hedwig's Theme, including those in POA.
  17. I think that this is the same list that appeared on the oh-so-reliable Ain't it Cool months ago. All this specualtion is getting old. We'll find out when the movies come out.
  18. Not sure what it is you're looking for help on, but if you're looking for the rest of the POA tracks then I would recommend, maybe, buying the CD?
  19. This is the case with almost every adaptation from book to film, including the best ones like Jaws. True, but the first two films were very comprehensive and included almost everything. Maybe my expectations were too high, since POA is a longer book and I knew the film would be shorter. But, I think they could have put in the most glaring omissions and not added any significant length to the film. All this really makes me think about how they are going to reduce GOF down to one film. Even if it's 3 hours long, there's no way they can get half of what's in the book in the film.
  20. Well, I finally saw the film. I like to wait until after the opening weekend crowds die down, and I've read the books several times so I already knew what happens. Overall, I enjoyed it, but not any more than the first two HP films. The most enjoyable part for me was the trio. They have really taken their parts to heart, and the performances show it. They have to do everything they can to keep these kids on board for every movie. I really enjoyed seeing a bit more of Fred and George. The newbies were good too. Every time I saw a trailer I though that Thewlis looks nothing like I pictured Lupin, but he pulled off the role well. Oldman nailed every aspect of Sirius perfectly. Gambon was a functional Dumbledore, nothing more. JWs score was excellent, of course. Complaints. First, I didn't like all the artsy-fartsy stuff. Shots of leaves falling, birds and trees, etc. Didn't do anything for me. I also agree with the complaints about the cinematography. Very grainy, and some scenes were shot in an amateurish kinda way. It didn't have the polish that Columbus had. And the big one, the adapatation. Too many things were left out, too many things were glossed over. It was the Cliff Notes version of the story. Like everyone else I was dissapointed that the Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs history is left out. And having Snape at the Shreiking Shack loses so much emotion because the history between him and the MWPP group is never mentioned. The whole Shreiking Shack scene felt awfully rushed to me. We never find out why Sirius and Wormtail are animaguses, and Harry's stag patronus isn't explained. The whole way the patronus works has been altered, really. And I REALLY wanted to see Harry and Gryffindor winning the Quiddich Cup on film. So, despite some quibbles about the direction and complaints about the story this was an enjoyable movie, but I don't see it as a huge improvement on the first two, which were very good in their own right. And in the end, it's only a suppliment to the book anyway.
  21. Maybe a reset of the "Was Mischief Managed a waste of space" poll and debate is in order. EDIT- And this just makes me even angrier over the whole screensaver and other assorted Crap No One Gives a Damn About on the CD.
  22. I was joking! But I lived in New Hampshire for 10 years, and let me tell you it's almost like speaking a different language.
  23. I'm sure you do it on purpose and improve on it. I'm glad this thread got back to something I can understand. I only speak 2 languages: English and Texan.
  24. Which cue would that be? "Belly of the Steel Beast" is certainly used in the film. Neil Keeping Up with the Joneses
