  1. From what I’ve seen it is a sure bet that LLLR are going to pursue as many classic Bond expansions as they can. They clearly have a relationship with EON, and have already released complete/expanded Bond scores (David Arnold scores), and given that we have this and Live and Let Die, a direction and pattern has been established. If/when they come, I’m here for them.
  2. I only had a couple of highlight cues from LALD so for me it makes sense to go for the LLLR release.
  3. No issue with a slight delay on Octopussy. I actually made two separate orders for LALD and OCT, so I'll get my copy of LALD earlier than some. I was weighing up whether I wanted OCT for a short while after I ordered LALD. I then realized there's probably a lot of great music and pulled the trigger on a separate order. At this point, any LLLR Bond expansions of this sort are immediate buys. Especially after revisiting the small amount of classic Bond music I have (50 tracks best of, the LLLR David Arnold releases and Goldfinger, in addition to the OST and some title theme singles for the Daniel Craig films). I'm a little late to the Bond score complete releases train.
  4. Someone, PLEASE release this expansion. LLLR? Pretty Please?
  5. SmithFinger? Damn my speed typing. Goldfinger.
  6. Based on these La-La Land releases, it seems they have a good level of trust from EON and the studios. I have a hope that we'll see more definitive Bond score expanded / complete releases, and I'm absolutely keeping my eyes on these. Do we have any idea on the probability of expansions for Dr. No, From Russia and Goldsmith? Has it been established how much extra material may exist?
  7. Absolutely worth getting for anyone who doesn't have it. Love this release.
  8. Glad I got my orders in early. High sales of Bond is predictable.
  9. Another excellent release. Between this, Octopussy and Live and Let Dis this is already a good year.
  10. There are a huge number of Bond scores, and an incredible musical legacy that deserves special attention like these LLLR releases. Die Another Day, The World is Not Enough, Tomorrow Never Dies, and now Octopussy and Live and Let Die. It seems the floodgates have opened.
  11. Well this is an awesome Christmas surprise. I’ve heard bits of this one in the past and enjoyed it so this was an easy quick order.
  12. It would be interesting to know what makes it particularly tricky. Rules change for mechanical reuse fees that year, altering the AFM fees for these recordings, or is it internal politics of some kind? Either way, I hold out hope for expansions, even if unlikely for whatever reason. I've seen too many film score release miracles not to. To my thinking on AFM fees etc., they are doing what any union should do, and that is to protect the rights and interests of it's members. Unfortunately, it sucks when it diminishes the viability for releasing more music.
  13. I agree, though I can see why it was done. I'd rather they had kept all the cues as either separate tracks or left a clear audio gap between each cue in the track.
  14. It was recorded by LA session musicians at the Todd-AO scoring stage, which sadly no longer exists. One of James Horner’s favorite recording venues. Some info: http://jameshorner-filmmusic.com/collaborations-english/todd-ao-scoring-stage/ http://jameshorner-filmmusic.com/todd-ao-years/
  15. I have to say Chris, this release is absolutely fantastic. All of your work on this is amazing.
  16. I'm still listening to this while I work, and it is a fantastic expansion. The only niggling thing is that they don't include the film version of the end credit song, only the version from the previous album. That said, I'm not sure aside from the cheesy sound effects that there is any difference between the two. Still, there is just so much excellent music, and in great quality, and I LOVE it.
  17. From what I remember of the film most of the music on CD 1 is used pretty much complete. There are some fantastic cues not on the OST disk, such as “Carl Enters Playtronics “, and the film version of “Cosmo… Old Friend”. Perfect music for writing code.
  18. I generally sympathize with this, but BBTS is a bit of a special case in that the corrections seem to be done sparingly for a few of the more egregious playing errors. From my listening the full spirit of the recordings are there, and unless one is familiar with the more glaring errors one wouldn't know that parts of the performance were taken from different takes of the recordings. They did the same for Superman IV which suffered many of the same kinds of performance issues. They playing was very spirited and I love the rawness.
  19. The Album mix is unchanged as far as I can tell. It is improved sound quality wise, but I think it is just from a better source for the Album master, and even has the same reverb applied (a much wetter sound than the main score program).
  20. Personally I'd LOVE a release of Brainstorm with both the film score and the re-recording already published. There are significant differences between the score in the film and the album.
