  1. I don't care how much money Episode II makes, as long Lucas has money to do Episode III (and I know he has the money). And, IMHO, AOTC is a superiro film when compared with Spiderman, but they were both good. Romão, a prequel trilogy enthusiast
  2. What I meant by saying that by considering AOTC and TPM non-true starwars movies, your'e being disrespectful towards lucas because it's his story, it's creation, and if he says they're part of the saga, ther'e snothing you can do about it, whether you like the films or don't. They're starwars movies, because they are a crucial and integratn part of the saga's main storyline.
  3. It's very hard to find scores from movies that weren't released yet.l It's impossible to find Minority Report in Portugal. But we also have europena cinema, in which you can find little treasures.
  4. I have no problems. And the math is pretty simple with the escudo (the Portuguese Currency). Long live the Euro!!!! BTW, the Euro does not concern all Europe, only 12 countries, I think (not sure if they are 11)
  5. I think Williams son co-wrote the music being played by the band in jabba's palace, thta was in the ROTJ before the special edition, where it was replaced by Jedi Rocks. I don't think his son had nothing to do with TPM; but I could be mistaken.
  6. Who says he wasn't aware of all the edits before the movie was released? Surely he discusses some issues with lucas.
  7. Well, but thery both are true SW. Saying otheriwise is, IMHO, disrespectful towards lucas story and vision. Romão, who wasn't even born when the whole original trilogy was released, but finds AOTC to be in the same level as the first 3 episodes.
  8. Is there any doubt? STAR WARS STAR WARS STAR WARS
  9. I wish he does rescores some scenes in AOTC, specially the parts where there's TPM music, but the leave the rest of the score as it is, cause I'm very fond of it.
  10. The main theme in Cutthorat Island, specially in tracks 1 and 19, is oen of the most exciting pieces of music I've ever heard. I love pirat stories, and though I don't care much about the mvie, the score, however, is and absolute classic in the swashbuckling genre, IMHO.
  11. Cutthroat Island (Debney) - I love this score Lord of the Rings (Shore) - I bought the cd a moth before seeing the movie. Crimson Tide (Zimmer) Seven Years in Tibet (JW) A. I (JW) - Again I bought the cd 2 months before watching the movie. E.T (JW) - I bought before watching the movie. The first time I watched was in 20th aniversary re-release. Shadows of the Empire (Joel McNeely) The Crow (Graeme Revell)
  12. I'm no music expert and art is always subjective, but I agree that John Williams is the best film composer ever. For the following reasons: - I'm familirar with oeuvre of the most renowed and influential film composers to date and no one strikes me like John Williams does - John Williams scored some of the most popular and influential movies ever. And JW didn't become popular cause he scored popular movies. He ssocre movies with potential and he helped give that extar push that made them classics. His legacy in film history is undeniable. - Jw composed several world famous movie themes (I mean that are recognizable to people thaht don't listen to film scores)...not once. but maybe 10 times. No other film composer can claim that. - And I believe he is a genius. he has composed around 20 or 30 absolute masterpieces. That's a lot. As I said, art is always subjective and I'm no music expert, but some of JW works have touched me really deeply and I can say my life would be very different if it weren't for JW.
  13. It's impossible to find those 2 cd's in Portugal. I wish I had your luck. If I were in your place I'd buy them right away.
  14. In http://www.theforce.net/episode3/index.html#17242 you can read some interesting Lucas thoughts on episode 3. In http://www.empireonline.co.uk/news/ you can read abou Spielberg's interest in Star Wars and see the TTT teaser poster. And in http://www.movie-list.com/ you can see TTT teaser trailer. I hope this is of some interest to anyone.
  15. The Lord of the Rings, the filme, is filled with moments where the character look up in awe at something. They're so many of them (and helicopter shots) that is annoying. Examples: The endlees shots (although impressive), establishing Isengard and Baradur When they frodo awakes in rivendell and looks over the balcony When they reach the great dwarf city deep in Moria When they arrive and Lothlorien When they gaze upon the pilars of argonath It was like saying: Wow, look at this! Take your time...isn't this lovely, isn't this epic? The aplies to the score. Romão, an absolute fan of the LOTR books.
  16. There's nothing to loose with a new indy movie...nothing. If the movie sucks, the first 3 will still be great. If it's as godd as the other 3, were in for a monumantal treat...so why should't we be happy withe the possobility of another brilliant film and score in the Indy world?
  17. For A.I. The movie won other four awards, for best Sci-fi movie, best screenplay, best actor (Osment) and best special effects (which it also should've won in the OSCARS). Hit the link for details: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...__5_saturn_nods
  18. I started thsi thread I and I want to make something clear: I was nto my intention to "insult" or challenge anyone who didn't like A.I. I just said, and I will say it again, that it is not the worst movie ever (as some have said, although not on this MB). This is my opinion, but the being A.I the kind of movie it is, having such bipolarized reactions could be seen as a good sign. Oh, and BTW, Osment and Law were most impressive, IMHO.
  19. I rewatched it yesterday, and I honestly don't get why some people say it's the worse movie they've ever seen. I think the movie is an absolute masterpeice (as is the score), and I don't expect everyone to agree with me. Buit to say this movie is awful and an utter waste of time is beyond me. To some people the movie may not seem brilliant as it did with me, but nowhere is it near of being one of the worse of all time. That's plain, simple, unfair exageration.
  20. Sheeba in Portuguese kinda means "slut".
  21. I love McQuarie's work, but doug chiang and Ian Mccaig are both brilliant: They're probably the most talented designers in Hollywood (IMHO, although it's not a very reliable opinion). McQuarrie's work was more iconic, but Chiang's design's, are, in my opinion, more subtle but at he same time somewhat more complex. You will see that in Ep. III both designs styles will reach their reunion point.
  22. He looks like a uber-cool big mother fu...
  23. I love the unused verison of the funeral in ROTJ, but in the album, with the used and unused versions interwebed, we get a concert suite-like version of the force theme, running over 2 minutes. That's the closest you get thsu far to a concert suite of the Force theme.
  24. Thank you, Mr. John Takis.
  25.     Go the page by yourselves then: http://filmforce.ign.com/harrypotter/ Romão, who feels embarassed.'> Romão, who feels embarassed.
