  1. I saw this. I refuse to get too excited until we have more details. This could be small little things that tie into Rebels somehow. Dave Filoni said that Lucasfilm Animation in Singapore was working on other things so these leads me to believe these will be animated and on Disney XD (i.e tie in with Rebels).
  2. LEGO often add those kind of effects to make it look like that character is doing something. I'm certain you actually see a representation of the Force on the Star Wars boxes. It's just so it doesn't look like the minifigs are doing nothing or levitating in mid air for no reason. BB, I think the change in design is the most likely too.
  3. Fair enough. I still can't imagine Azog being at Dol Guldur and Thranduil's palace in the same film but you've certainly put a good case forward. I'll guess we'll have to wait and see. The question is though, why bother with Azog? If he's just going to replace Bolg why didn't they just use Bolg?
  4. Do you mean you think Bolg will be in the actual film? It isn't beyond LEGO to have the wrong minifig in a set. For AUJ they had Yazneg instead of Azog in their out of the frying pan set. Could be the same story here, so as not to spoil anything? That definitely seems to be the same statue alright. I wouldn't worry too much about the Necromancer's look. Minifigs look great when you're familiar with the actual character it's representing not when you're seeing them for the first time.
  5. Some spoilers from the upcoming LEGO sets. http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2013/10/19/80896-see-new-high-res-artwork-for-the-desolation-of-smaug-lego-sets/
  6. BTS video and audio recordings and you can click on the picture to make them bigger and see them in greater detail. Things like that.
  7. The enhanced e-books look interesting. If I got a tablet I'd consider double dipping on them.
  8. Oh I assumed you knew about the actual drafts, it's just very interesting seeing them play out in a comic book rather than just a script. I'm only about 40 pages into The Making of Return of the Jedi because I don't have much free time at the moment but it seems to hit the same high standards of the previous books.
  9. Are you aware of the current comic series adapting the very first Lucas draft of The Star Wars?
  10. Maybe this has been said before and goes without saying but I think parts of "My Dear Frodo" seem to gel well with "Journey to the Grey Havens" especially some of the choir material. It sounds, to me, almost like a bookend. Maybe it's just me imagining it but it works for me.
  11. Doesn't sound as if there's anything major story wise (except maybe point 9) but it sounds as if there's some nice new character moments which is always good IMO. Looking forward to it.
  12. Non film score people call them songs. It is quite annoying but I've learned to just block it out.
  13. TBH I would never have been able to tell the difference but then I've not been listening to film music as long as you guys. That Moria sequence is one of the highlights of the trilogy IMO.
  14. Doesn't totally belong in here but it's a cool slightly related rumour. I hope it's true! http://makingstarwars.net/2013/10/rumor-john-williams-writing-star-wars-rebels-theme/
  15. Beren and Luthien is the only thing that I can think of that comes anywhere close but they've done that with Aragorn and Arwen.
  16. WHAAAA??? McDiarmid is 69 and Ford is 71 I think. I might be slightly off with the ages but Ford is the older of the two. Posted this in the London/LA thread but I'll post it here too.
  17. Ian McDiarmid is younger than Harrison Ford. That allows blows my mind no matter how many times I say it.
  18. There was an interview with him at the start of the year. It was in Bloomberg Buisnessweek or something like that. Had Mickey Mouse and Artoo on the front. Anyway, he brought in Kenedy and she was brought in with the objective to make more movies. They got Arnt (who is working on a script based on Lucas' story treatment) on board before it was sold to Disney and as far as I remeber Kasdan and Kinberg were also brought on around the same time. Abrams was also scouted by Lucas and Kenedy but obviously didn't sign on until after the Disney deal had been anounced (although those things aren't related). Lucas also said that he'd began conversations with the Hammil, Ford and Fisher before selling as well. EDIT: here we go http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2013-03-07/how-disney-bought-lucasfilm-and-its-plans-for-star-wars#p1 you can read it yourselves if interested.
  19. The chemistry between Freeman and Cumberbatch is, for me anyway, what makes the show so good. Why would you want to mess with that?
  20. I can kind of see the Isengard influence but it very much screems Orc to me. As someone said above they're closest to the Minas Morgul Orcs but still distinct enough to be their own thing.
  21. She's a cool character in the Star Wars Republic comic series. Although the series it evolved into (Dark Times) is even better.
  22. I don't think Lucas had any involvement with the EU until NJO when he he may also have been involved in oking . Over the weekend I'll try an find the Mara Jade hate. There was that Robot Chicken scetch as well. I think it is in the bonus features. I'll dig them out over the weekend but really Lucas has never really cared for the EU too much but as taken the odd thing (the name Coruscant and the character of Aayla Secura).
