  1. Yes, Jay said Williams wrote that new stringline after they already decided to just track it, so it was recorded newly.
  2. After he redid every Indy and SW from scratch (!), he can do whatever he wants until the post-2005 JW scores are profitable to release.
  3. The Chamber Opens and The Search for Ginny, shockingly enough. Jay already confirmed it's in it.
  4. Nope, the film has a newly written version with a new swirling string line and woodwinds. It just wasn't in the session leak but it's on the set. It was planned to be tracked so the cue sheet we have says it was.
  5. So, Disc 1 of Dracula. Starts off with the standard expected stuff then suddenly you get Casting a Spell and the Visitation. And the sweet Give Me Your Loyalty! Other highlights include Grave Trampling and the Asylum, Van Helsing Confronts Dracula and Solution, and Waiting for Draula to the end. To Scarborough is quite the powerhouse, Death is a satisfying finale and End Titles is just a gorgeous composition. The sound quality is pretty good here, if not always great. The full Love Scene is fascinatingly different to Night Journeys! Well I certainly don't regret getting this set. It will get a number of listens, both discs probably, then I'll probably take up Stu's mantle as isolator (which he abandoned for this score after seeing unforeseen edits and speed changes) in the second half of December, I'm intrigued to find out what matches what and how.
  6. I'm not sure if it's the samples being better mastered than the leaks, or just me having never actually listened to them with as good headphones as I am now or both, but I'm hearing a ton of richness and subtleties in PS that seem completely new to me even for leaked tracks I've known for years!
  7. Williams' Dracula - OST first. I'm not overly impressed by the sound quality but I didn't expect much knowing it's just the original album master. It's about the same as Bespin's restoration, much much better than the previous CD release. Presentation's pretty good. Now for the real deal!
  8. From the interview, the transition to the HWW alternate finale is still kind of jarring, there's a weird stereo imbalance going on with it being hard right for a few notes, but it's at least not a jump down in quality, I remember it being more muffled on the CoS OST.
  9. I can kind of see her point, being protective of the IP and not letting it be slapped on everything and devalued: Harry Potter numbers History with Hermione Multiply with Minerva File your taxes through the Owl Post Learn about the Orchestra with Harry Potter! Valuing more in-universe kind of merchandise over this is commendable, it's just a shame a fantastic bunch of JW music fell victim of it early on. A fantastic interview by the way, very informative and the trailers are great!
  10. Dunno, we learnt it in German class and of course loved it. Here's a performance MM should remaster:
  11. Or samples. And maybe with some of these releases they could follow Intrada's on demand printing model like with Jaws and Alien instead of a one-off limited batch.
  12. 1 2 3 4 DRAAKULA 5 6 7 8 DRAAKULA Erwacht, erwacht, um Mitternacht Die Uhr schlächt 12, Ich hör es schon, Drakula ist bei mir schon! I always forgot these two lines Die Leichen tanzen Rock'n Roll Bei Nacht bei Nacht bei Nacht im Mondenschein! What an absolutely gorgeous set! Kind of takes the edge off of me not getting the HP set for a while that I now finally have this mostly completely new score to explore!
  13. Well they are archived now that way, so maybe if Warner will be interested in reissuing these in the future, they will have these perfect proper files.
  14. which we found out were identical to the original film masters, so... we don't know anything.
