  1. These days I listened for the first time to the album Our World released in 2017 and it's great, after a few listens it quickly became one of my favorite. I have no information about this project I couldn't find anything about it. The album consist of ten suites which are quite long, 6 or 7 minutes. I like this because it's departure from other Preisner's scores when we have short cues. Preisner use some of his material from other scores but I also hear new music. I think I need to remake my top 10 and include this album because it's amazing! I recommend this for any Preisner's fan. Does anyone else listened to this album?
  2. It's such a unique score in the mood it creates with the female voice, piano and strings it has a fascinating effect on me. Also I like how Preisner uses silence and pauses to create mood. "It's Time" is one of my favorite cues of all times.
  3. Great composer, his music is melodic with great use of piano and strings. My favorite scores: 1. It's all About Love 2. Lost and Love 3. Menachem & Fred 4. When a Man Loves a Woman 5. The Beautiful Country 6. Anonyma, Eine Frau in Berlin 7. Aglaja 8. Bleu/Rouge/Blanc 9. Feast of July 10. Un Secret
  4. Unbreakable - James Newton Howard Cold Mountain - Gabriel Yared Year One in the North - Michiru Oshima Bliss - Jan A.P. Kaczmarek Legends of the Fall - James Horner Les Misérables - Basil Poledouris Merlin - Trevor Jones Under Aurora - Reijiro Koroku Across The Sea Of Time - John Barry The Portrait of a Lady - Wojciech Kilar
  5. Rémy Ballot who is the last student of Sergiu Celibidache, it's very close. Listen to this: or his recording with Altomonte Festival Orchestra St. Florian.
  6. Bartosz Chajdecki - Różyczka 2 WOW! One of my favorite scores of the year, I'm blown away by this score! Gorgeous romantic music similar in style with Abel Korzeniowski Romeo & Juliet. I have always been a fan of Chajdecki, too bad some of his scores remain unreleased.
  7. One of my favorite JNH moments, the cathartic Breakout from Dinosaur, starts at 1:09.
  8. I enjoy this score, it's probably my favorite Hunger Games score since the first one. I like the instrumentation with the piano, viola de gamba, cello d’amore, choir, female voice and the atmosphere and mood they create. This score is more like the first one minus the electronics and it lacks a stunning theme like Rue's theme but the reprised themes from the series are great. Of course the release it's too lengthy so I made myself a 60 min. playlist leaving out the dissonant and violent action music (but I really love the action cue Happy Hunger Games) and some suspense cues. My highlights are: Meet the Mentor Sejanus - gorgeous and emotional, pure JNH magic Hunger is a Weapon Saving Snow Ideas Firing Happy Hunger Games - great action music Mercy Under the Flag - cathartic Get Her Out - cathartic Snow Lands on Top and the three piano cues Friendship, Rue's Farewell and Victor - maybe a future album like Night after Night with the music from all the Hunger Games scores? That would be great.
  9. There is a new theme in Meet the Mentor, which it reminded me of one of his theme from his violin concerto.

  11. A director who ask for a more classical score with no electronics, in 2023, it's exciting and something to admire.
  12. Not only that it's not that bad but for me it's very good. I was also underwhelmed at my first listen because of the length and the dark suspense cues but after I made my playlist the score grew on me. This is gorgeous, beautiful, emotional score with great themes. JNH is very good at this. I agree with you that even if I don't like some cues I'm grateful for the lengthy release this way I can easily make my own playlist.

II. Rue's Farewell (Yuja Wang) 2:03 40. III. Victor (Yuja Wang) 2:00
  15. This theme is so gorgeous and it get so emotional in the cue Burden. I love it!
  16. I'm also excited for this especially that it will be more orchestral than electronic. Great autumn for JNH fans with Night After Night, All the Light and soon a new Hunger Games score.
  17. Yes, also the violin writing in All the Light represent hope. After I made my playlist I listened to the score on repeat and it grew on me. It's so much better, it's my favorite JNH score since A Hidden Life.
  18. This score screams for an expanded release! So many great cues left out.
  19. James Newton Howard talking about The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
  20. A Hidden Life is a masterpiece and the best JNH score since The Village.
  21. I like this score it has beautiful and emotional moments. As Thor said, it's not as good as A Hidden Life or Defiance, but I wasn't expected this anyway, this is a Netflix series not a Terrence Malick film. So I made a playlist without the thriller style suspense cues. I only selected the beautiful and emotional piano/violin/strings cues, the emotional stuff that JNH is so good at. This is my playlist (maybe it will inspire others): 01. Main Title — 1:23 02. August 1944 — 1:16 03. Falling Leaflets — 0:57 04. Werner Listens — 1:22 05. Secrets — 2:19 06. Depart Immediately — 1:22 07. Model City — 3:23 08. To the Museum — 0:52 09. A Day at the Museum — 3:29 10. Reason to Hope — 0:51 11. Burden — 1:26 12. A Promise — 2:46 13. Genius is a Gift — 1:45 14. Model Building — 2:24 15. Catching Breath — 1:13 16. You are the Professor — 2:13 17. Speak To Me — 2:25 18. No Time for Games — 2:27 19. Ask Me Again — 2:43 20. Not Today — 1:39 21. The Most Important Light — 2:19 22. Liberation — 4:03 23. Sea of Flames — 2:16 24. Saint-Malo — 2:31 25. Model City Duet — 2:13 Total duration 51:52
  22. Amazing album, it's perfect from start to finish! The new interpretations are great, every cue it's perfect and I'm glad that JNH went for a meditative and calm album without those suspense/horror cues from the original albums.
