  1. The Power of Greyskull from the Masters of the Universe is the most powerful experiencea along with the Main Title.
  2. I hope that was a joke... Does it look like I'm joking? I implore you to listen to it, your life will not be same after that experience.
  3. What is this!? Masters of the Universe is not included? Was it a toy line first, then a comic book? Conti's Masters of the Universe is one of the best scores in this globe, it has the ultimate best fanfare that anyone has composed. When I listen to that score I do not even remember Superman...
  4. You know in the evening or at night I have a habit of composing music in my head before falling asleep, usually for a film. For example arranging strings to play Kamenesque string patterns and adding perhaps an oboe or trumpet melody on it. Yeah... ripping Kamen from the very first note! Usually it is not the music I would write to the partiture, but sometimes I create some nice themes and I get excited forgetting to fall asleep. And having woken up in the morning I get upset because those lovely notes are not in my head anymore. Do you have these tendencies or am I the lone wolf McQuade thinking those things?
  5. a) You should buy and hear to other composers, and not only film composers, but mainly to the great masters of the past; b) Listen, really listen to War of the Worlds. You don't need to like it, but boy, that's an amazing piece of music!!!! a) I was talking CDs. I own PLENTY of other composers' music... just ... not in CD form. I shalln't say any more 'bout that. b) I DO like WOTW, or rather, appreciate it. It is mind-blowing music, I agree. But it's just not VARIED enough to sustain my attention for long. I also don't like the clinical 'too-precise' quality of the recording. Shan't...
  6. The Lullaby and Finale are magic. Ever wondered were Williams found inpiration for the final ten minutes of Close Encounters of the Third Kind? Angel and Visitations Rautavaara (naxos recording ) I think I have a sample disc of Rautavaara music, and kind of made a positive impression on me back then... Any more recomendations on that? I heard Rautavaara's Angel of Dusk, Double Bass Concerto live in Helsinki. It was marvelous. Hard to acquire, sadly.
  7. 1. Krull 2. The Rocketeer 3. Willow 4. Braveheart 5. Apollo 13 Krull is a superior score, one of the very best and certainly one of the most energetic I have heard. I highly recommend it.
  8. I am not sure if this topic has been discussed before, but this is my pair. Danny Elfman and Finnish comedian/blues artist Heikki Silvennoinen. We have amazed with my friend their striking resemblance for years.
  9. Silvestri represents to me a composer who cannot give anything excellent. He is not a bad composer, he gives safe and mediocre scores. Zemeckis likes him, I am not sure why. He is one of the best amongst mediocre composers though.
  10. And would it not be nice to use a lighter while playing with that final ark scene brought us by Lego?
  11. Its choice as the most beautiful elven woman is very debatable IMO. I admit Peter Jackson made a mistake by casting her as Galadriel. She is beautiful but not elven like. Her classy qualities will fit better to Indy IV. She fit the part perfectly! She was a brilliant elf! Yeah only Kathy Bates would have been worse.

  13. Rocketeer's Main Title & Takeoff... wow. When Secord takes off, it makes me fly too every time.
  14. Vangelis' Blade Runner cover is one of the best. It captures the feeling of the film very well. I must mention the worst cover ever... Any vetoes before the verdict?
  15. Hm Cate Blanchett will be acting in the next Indy... not bad choice from Mr. Spielberg.
