  1. If we all play Krull with maximum volume, Mr. Horner might resurrect with force.
  2. Braveheart from beginning to end. One of the most romantic (in a wider sense) film and Horner's score is at least 50% of it.
  3. Requiescat in pace James Horner. Nos omnes tui meminerimus principis musices...
  4. Snobbiest? Probably not. Likely snobbier than the LSO, considering that they practically never play this kind of music. But with an equal claim to the popular title of world's best orchestra. Was it Vienna Philharmonic who did not allow women to be members of the orchestra and the last orchestra to prohibit that?
  5. I was disappointed when I heard about this War Horse, friendship between a boy and horse sounds dull as hell. Another child actor lacking future prosperity... I hope Spielberg pursues towards Lincoln. Great theme for a film and great opportunity for Williams to compose something noble with full gusto.
  6. I got it finally (with the help of my good friend). And I can feel my walls and floor trembling.
  7. 1. ID4 - David Arnold 2. Dances with Wolves - John Barry 3. Rocketeer - James Horner 4. Jurassic Park - John Williams 5. Terminator 2 - Brad Fiedel 6. Hook - John Williams 7. Braveheart - James Horner 8. Shawshank Redemption - Thomas Newman 9. Thomas Crown Affair - Bill Conti 10. First Knight - Jerry Goldsmith
  8. Young pleases me also, good score for the genre. Usually characters are not important in disaster films, but The Core has a great cast, and we can see some nice acting also. Stanley Tucci shines in it particularly, remember that "meltdown" in the capsule?
  9. Sir, you must be deft! Not at all. I really have tried to listen with care, maybe there are some similar note patterns but nothing big. It stands on its own.
  10. The Core is a classic. The film packs with outstanding actors (Stanley Tucci, Bruce Greenwood, Hilary Swank, Aaron Eckhard, Delroy Lindo). It is so entertaining film.
  11. I must vote for Krull. I bought the DVD before seeing it only because of the music. It was so bad that I almost cried, and the DVD is still in my shelf and the question is: why? It is one of the great paradoxes that the film contains the best music composed by Horner and it manages to be the worst film he ever has composed.
  12. Less talented half brother? That particular score is one of the best scores ever composed, Even John Williams could not have composed such a marvellous score. There is no score that makes me feel so much than Conti's Masters of the Universe, its sublime fanfares and also the sombre moments. That score is more than 70 % of the film, the music really saves that film. I have heard the claims that it sounds like Superman, but I do not hear any similarity.
  13. I recommend playing "Ding dong the witch is dead" from THE WIZARD OF OZ as the bride walks down the aisle I thought of Camelot from the First Knight, it is the grandest cathedral of my city.
  14. I never thought someone could be inspired by what I did. But still I can recommend MotU. Conti's best score and Main Title is easily one of the best fanfares ever composed. La-La Land has released the complete original score, but now sold out unfortunately.
  15. As long as it's not some stupid attempt to remake the original, I'm a very happy boy. Hard to surpass the original, one of the best action films ever made. And Schwarzenegger really does his best.
  16. I will partake in my cousin's wedding next month, maybe I ought to bring something sublime to which I can listen during the ceremony.
  17. This topic came to my head suddenly 5 minutes ago. Maybe someone has already created this one. My awkward moment came 5 minutes ago, I have been listening to Bill Conti's exquisite Masters of the Universe through mp3 player at work and suddenly I felt the need for going to a wc. When I entered, He-Man Enslaved started and I found myself laughing and urinating at the same time. He-Man Enslaved is one of the highest points in that score, very sombre and sad moment where you can hear something magical, and I completely ruined it. I will recover no doubt, it was just extremely amusing. I know some people will find this disgusting but I could not resist temptation.
  18. Too bad I cannot travel there. Maybe it can be heard here.
  19. Actually I finished the series called Murder One, easily the best law related story I have seen. Daniel Benzali ought to be placed next to Jack Nicholson or Marlon Brando, stunning performance I say!
  20. One of the best (with Krull). I am fond of various pipes like uillean pipes (I would have liked highland bagpipe in this film instead). One of the first soundtracks bought, I was very impressed. It is pity that some of the best parts are so short, like Making Plans/Gathering the Clans or The Legend Spreads.
  21. Another great and illustrious composer gone, and no one coming to replace the greatness. Requiescat in pace.
  22. Mr. Conti will be telling again great anecdotes from his great career...
  23. I bought the Blade Runner Collector's Edition in Blu-ray half a year ago and still I have not got the player. But it gets better if I wait longer.
