  1. Hey Stefan I agree with you. ROTK Score is better than the other two. NiIce orchestrations and varioations of the themes in this one. That was the mayor letdown of the other two scores. Also the chorus is better presented here. But the presentation of the CD.... I was angered! I was EAGER to hear again the choral version of the fellowship theme, and the arrival of the great eagles (the best scene for me in the whole trilogy ) were not in there . I dont know but is the scene with Shadowfax and gandalf saving the survivors of Minas Morgul out of the CD too? I cannot find it... Hey Chris! Show respect for poor Radagast (the best wizard out there for me - same reason as the great eagles ) And i think he was the one killed. How do you think that Saruman got his Raven flocks? And Saruman did not died at least in LOTR (as i remember it), he was cast out of power and then he is only a poor old man...
  2. Every inch of that movie looked fake. Maybe the people did interact well with the CGI (it's debatable), but the CGI looked like CGI that is not any kind of achievment. Shelob looking and feeling real was an achievement. I think WETA should do the Potter films- look at how pathetic Aragog was (as a stupid puppet) and how pitifull Dobby was next to Gollum. IT'S TRUE! The guy believes it!
  3. Do you really believe it?! Luke, who has not seen any better CGI person-movement in any other movie. Look. WETA's work is good (as i stated other times) but i dont buy the praise it gets by people who likes so much the movie who cannot see ANY SFX errors in them. (Having blatantly ugly ones as the CGI Legolas) And dont get picky at me saying like 'i like this movie or other because it its made by ILM...' or other similar remark, because i already posted two time the errors of AOC, and being me a SW it has to be worth something.
  4. The CGI was fine. ILM would have done nothing diffrent. I think a good way of handling it would have been through the "Ring view" like in bree or Amon Hen. It would have been interesting to see it. Although I don't really hate the sequence I simply think it could have been done better. I didn't find the Boromir, Faramir, Denathor flashback to be funny at all. Justin -Who thinks the film needed a bit of humor though. 1- If you say so... 2- That's one of the scenes i called truly important...
  5. 1- Hiring ILM for the task? I dont know if it is, but it should have been done by putting Eliah Wood on a blue outfit (as serkis) and put serkis on top of Wood and then substituting Serkis with Gollum. It is was filmed that way then i cannot understand the strange movements they made. 2- I'm the only one who thinks that TTT:EE additions are just a bunch of funny scenes with one or twi truly important? I think that FOTR:EE was handled better
  6. Anyway, Indiana Jones IV is going to be filmed Digitally...that's a start, isnt it? Morn, about the Gaynees of Gandalf, well it is true... isnt he joyfull or makes jokes? TOlkies used the word gay some times to reflect that (it former meaning) Luke also puzzled that in the Middle Earth every seems to be 'queer'...
  7. Neil take care! It could be the 'Special Edition'
  8. wow that's true fan isnt it? Hey stefan, how did you managed to put the hat on in your avatar? It is the same face! Are you using ILM? NoO match For Mr Breathmask WETA's
  9. Well at least it still has bigscreen Special effects, and no those of Direct-to-video movies
  10. Ahem, i thought it was clear. He is still waiting for an opinion by John Williams.
  11. He could have scored the cartoons... another missing opportunity... plu s ithink all the Indy, SW and JP videogames should be offered to him
  12. That are my sentiments too...for different reasons... Luke, who thinks that the movies are good
  13. Hey about the zombie or spirits thing... good point. I think they are fine as they are then
  14. Another thing that Puzzles me. Arent elven supposed to be sublte?
  15. I think that i read somewhere that Davis was still waiting for it too... Luke, who likes JPIII score
  16. Well if PJ made those movies, WETA would be off the crew. ILM will do it. (heck it is a Lucas movie) And as far as im concerned LORT has a lot of bluescreen and completely CGI scenes, as SW has a lot of miniatures-made-sets and costume creatures. Personally i would not made more SW movies because JW would not be there to score them
  17. Anyway, if Williams has the time, and Spielberg asks him for, (even if he does not direct it) I think Williams would score it... Luke eager to be in 2005, the year when the three sagas are together. What a wonderful summer i will pass! May EPIII, June IJIV, July JPIV They will interfere themselves in the awards though
  18. He is unrecogniceable but i knew it since the begining...
  19. Marian, i have a question. Of course Eowyn is not a man, but Merry is. Of course he did not kill him just injured him. I mean, he is a halfling, but then, the elven, Dwarf and any mage could have killed him too, the are not 'men' either. I dont remember if in the book they said merry could harm him because he was not a man, but then the fear of every middle earth dweller would not be right... I think the whole dethenor plot was too much adpated... AnNd Gandalf killing him was not right.
  20. Yes he is supposed to have german or russian Accent. And in Spiderman there is goofy moving people
  21. Well... well... I saw the movie yesterday and: Nice movie, the score even seemed to have better chorus i liked the company theme with it (neverthe lees i think that anyone who hears the complete score of the trilogy one after another, has to end crazy. Few themes fro three movies and hardly any orchestrations ). I liked Gollum's improvement (i thought his face had changed seeing the posters) but he still did not interact well enough. I liked The Flying Nazgul. There were two scenes that let me down though I had chills when i saw Gandlaf in Shadofax lighting his staff but the darn scene just lasted seconds! Same happened with the arrival of the Great eagles (i love raptors ) another short and rushed scene. The end was too scene.scene.scene...and Poor Chistopher Lee does not appear in the movie! Well now lets get with CGI The oliphaunts were improved, but i wonder if PJ has seen elephants running. They do not make big strides and anyway giant elephants would not go that fast. I think Shelob is the only 'animal' they got the movement totally well, but i dont remember if it had a sting, but i think she should not have two pairs of quelifers (mandibles) where is where spiders have its venom. If anyone thinks that the inclusion of the videogame 'Legolas vs Oliphaunt' is amazing regarding CGI (the scene is cool), well dont say AOC is a cartoon movie, please. I thing the undead are a little obsolete for 2003-4. They could have been like in Pirattes of the caribean (there are not many close ups anyway and mainly from the chief) And i thought they were going to be a match for Pirattes... The armies were also better, and the horses are very good when you see them far off. The close ups are very ugly (as it was in TTT) I still think that the overuse of the hue filters makes the special effect look worse that it really is. As an adaptation... it is not worse that TTT... I think the better adaptation is FOTR since they just left out scenes. in TTT and ROTK they changed the story while erasing things. I have a question, Gandalf just takes the steward role. Isnt that some kind of guide/advice? I think he got his hands too much to have his excuse of not using magic... I think he could have used just a little as he does in the videogame. Luke, puzzled by ROTK being the only movie (as far as im concerned) to have the ben burt's trademark sound twice...
  22. Sorry man, you can say Gollum is well done but do not tell me Spiderman has good special effects! Luke, very glad Venom does not Appear
  23. I don't think he's actually changing something. He keeps adding footage, sure, but he's not changing history like Lucas. Well, he changed the story from the begining adapting Tolkien's work... Anyway you said history.. you mean Lucas changes are so important to be put on Books? Luke, who thinks PJ is a young GL. Just wait 20 years and well see...
  24. Er... isnt Candid a synonym of naive? Luke, who thinks Fiery angel meant warm or something like that...
  25. It works for you, you mean? The only believable moments about him are when he is not moving through the ground (ie his dual dialogue).
