  1. Not sure if I posted this but I wrote 7 little pieces (a suite) for 2022 World Cup in Doha, this time not for the opening ceremonies but for a pyrotechnics and fireworks show that played every night for a month over the Arbian Gulf. I wanted to share at least one of the little pieces I recorded with the Qatar Philharmonic. Hope you like it. 04 4. War (NBA) Mix PF v4.wav
  2. The trilogy that forever shattered a fanbase in two. The trilogy that, arguably, scarred the reputation of one of Hollywood's greatest storytellers. The trilogy that, whatever its shortcomings may be, features some of the most badass music John Williams has ever composed. Which film and score do you prefer from the divisive Star Wars prequel trilogy?
  3. Which film and score is your favorite from the classic Star Wars original trilogy?
  4. I was just wondering what the general consensus as to The Godfather scores are around here... the scores for all three are pretty great, with the first two films being some of my all-time favorite scores. What do you think of Nino Rota and Carmine Coppola's work on The Godfather trilogy?
  5. Hi everybody! Before everything went into lockdown mode, I had the pleasure to record this 80s/90s adventure score inspired piece of mine which I'd like to share with you guys. Hope you like it!
  6. So yeah, this is a topic I see debated occasionally on the forums, so I thought this could be a formal place to do so and share your opinion. Feel free to share your thoughts below, and please participate in the poll above!
  7. Hi there, I've made a cover of the original Jurassic Park main theme. Check out my video cover here on YouTube: I figured you guys on this forum would like it. I'm a big fan of John Williams and have been making music for 20 years. This one isn't my best production or cover, but it was a real challenge for me because I only re-made it by ear. If you liked, feel free to like, share or subscribe to my Youtube channel! 8. What is your favorite end credits song from the LOTR and Hobbit films? My personal favorite is "Into The West". Such a perfect song to conclude the Middle-earth saga. A sad, yet hopeful piece masterfully performed by Annie Lennox.
  9. Almost all music in the Indy scores has some synths in them (Especially TOD) to enhance the music. Some are hidden very well, and some are pretty obvious. I was wondering who created them, and is there any sound clips of them anywhere?
  10. I found some of the clean originals on YouTube (like the club fight score from TOD), but i could not find the original "Short Round Helps" and "Water!" scores. (They just sound better imo.) So can someone here maybe teach me how to clean rip the originals like people did back in the day? Or if someone has the original "short round helps" ect., could you please maybe send me a copy of them? (Doesn't matter the quality.) I just really need them in my life! They sound so good!!
  11. Here's my catalog of themes for The Last Jedi. Anybody have ideas about what the sarabande, crying motive, desperation motive, or last-ditch fanfare might signify? https://www.aaronkrerowicz.com/star-wars-blog/the-last-jedi-soundtrack-musical-analysis-catalog-of-themes
  12. Someone knows Czech movie The Elementary School? The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1991. In this movie is a scene where boys ride on bicycles and playing music variation on John WIlliams. E.T. Extra Terrestrial was a temp track. I think.
  13. I know there has been some backlash against the large amount of polls created recently, but this is a poll that had to be made. Which film and score is your favorite from the epic The Lord of The Rings trilogy?
  14. Both cues serve as main themes to easily the two most influential and popular fantasy series of all time; The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, respectively. Which musical theme do you prefer, "The History of the One Ring" or "Hedwig's Theme"?
  15. As the title implies, I've been wondering for a while what instrument is used in "Minas Morgul" on the LOTR:ROTK soundtrack ("A Coronal of Silver and Gold" on the LOTR:ROTK complete recordings) to create the distinct pitch and sound of Sauron's theme in the track. The instrument produces a screaming, almost satanic sound that I haven't heard anywhere else in the music of LOTR. I've searched the internet looking for what instrument could've been used, but my search was to no avail. So yeah, it'd be great if someone could help me out on this certain topic. Thanks!
  16. Is television scores really worth the investment? I mean, the only really good music in classic TV was the theme songs. And in today's prime-time television scene, is scoring a TV show really worth investment? Sometimes is awfully cheesy while other times, it helps. But it's too little and far between of the later. What do you guys think? Also, Do you think JW would score a good adventurous/sci-fi television show on prime time?
  17. Hello friends, I just wanted to bring you a very good video! This is a compilation of the best songs of John Williams, really good! I did it as a tribute to his work. I hope you enjoy! Thanks a lot! PD: I'm Spanish and my English is very bad, sorry
  18. Hi! I'm a newcomer to this website / forums, but a life-long John Williams fan. I'm a writer from Monterrey, México. And just like everyone else in these forums, I grew up listening to Mr. Williams' work. Last month I received a government grant to produce a short film (I'll direct, I'll leave the producer credit to braver people). It's a big deal for my team and myself, since it's a federal-funded grant which we won through a rigorous process. We already have a talented composer on our team, but: To make a long story short: I'd like to contact Mr. Williams to see if he'd be interested in scoring (or composing a theme) for my short film. I know it's a long shot, I know how busy he must be, and all the time-frame and legal hoops that stand in the way. But just in case, just in case he'd be interested in scoring (or composing just a theme) for a professional, magical-realism short film to be produced in Mexico come January 2017... ...What would be the best way to contact him? To present my query to his manager or representative. That is, besides the physical address already listed on this site (which I'm already writing to). I'm open to all suggestions and help. Thank you, everyone!
  19. I have recently endeavored on a project to listen through all of the Star Wars soundtracks and pull out the popular leitmotifs present within the films, ones like "Across the Stars", "The Main Title", or "The Force Theme". In order to do this I need to be able to listen to the complete scores for all 6 of the movies, ones that are movie accurate. The extended editions for all of the originals and the Ultimate Edition TPM soundtrack work just fine, but the Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, and Force Awakens scores are highly edited and extremely lacking. This is particularly prominent in the Attack of the Clones soundtrack, where I find listings of all the musical cues but never the songs themselves. I looked around and saw that people have created their own soundtracks that play just as it is in the movie but I haven't been able to get my hands on them, so I would be very appreciative if someone with more experience than I could supply me with the complete scores for these movies: Attack of the Clones Revenge of the Sith The Force Awakens But with particular emphasis on Attack of the Clones. Thanks!
  20. Hello everyone, Being a fan of Star Wars since I was a kid, I couldn’t have been more excited at the idea of a new trilogy. I went to see Star Wars: Episode VII and was not disappointed. The only thing missing for me was this: The music for the big bad Kylo Ren was lacking. I went online to see if he had some sort of official theme and he did, but it wasn't really representative. Looking back at the original trilogy, I found this surprising because the theme music for Darth Vader, The Imperial March, is impossible to forget. Kylo Ren being so closely related to Vader, I decided to challenge myself to create a narrative anti-hero theme composition for Kylo Ren :
  21. I want to continue my search for the best John Williams tracks of each of his music types/styles (Action Music, Adventure Music, Downbeat/Sad Music, Romantic/Love Music,...). If someone would ask you for a John Williams playlist of his best Upbeat / Positive / Feel Good music, which tracks would you choose? My random order of John Williams best Upbeat / Feel Good music would be: 01) "Journey to the Island" (From Jurassic Park) 02) "Space Camp" (From Space Camp) 03) "To Charleston" (From The Patriot) 04) "Throne Room and Finale" (From Star Wars) 05) "Return to the Village / Raiders March" (From Temple of Doom) 06) "Rouge City" (From Artificial Intelligence) 07) "Jim's New Life" (From Empire of the Sun) 08) "The Flying Sequence" (From Hook) 09) "Short Round's Theme" (From Temple of Doom) 10) "Olympic Fanfare and Theme" (Comissioned for the Los Angeles ’84 Olympic Games) 11) "Follow Me" (From Always) 12) "Doctor, Lawyer, Lutheran" (From Catch Me If You Can) 13) "Main Title" (From Star Wars) 14) "Entry into the Great Hall" (From Harry Potter 1) 15) "Arrival in New York" (From Home Alone 2) 16) "The Open Sea" (From Jaws 2) 17) "Banning Back Home (Film Version)" (From Hook) 18) "Snowy's Theme" (From Tintin)
  22. I saw these two entries on www.jw-collection.de: 2004 KRIEG DER STERNE - Original-Hörspiel zum Film - 2006 STAR WARS - Die Original-Filmhörspiele - (6 CD) First thing, are the Germans the only ones who did that (no other international editions)? Is there others releases or just these two? --> I really talk about the audio books, not the Original Radio Drama releases or even the old children's narrated story books.
  23. Not sure if this has been posted previously, but, it convinces me that I'm moving to Europe. BKL: Packing as we speak.
