Vaderbait1 1
I've got a few questions regarding Classical/Romantic music defintions, and they may sound dumb, but bear with me here:1) What is a symphony?2) What does Op. stand for?3) What is an Overture?I know the generic definitions, but obviously not well enough to know the difference between these. Any help? Any other key definitions I'm missing?

bruckhorn 105
Ready for some confusion?Opus is a musical work. The plural of Opus is Opera. When used in the singular, an Opera is a essentially a play where the dialogue is sung and accompanied by an orchestra.Ain't music fun?Coda = end of the piece (an overly simplistic definition, but work with me)Codetta = short codaOpus = a workOpuscule = a small workQuaver = a short noteSemi-quaver = a shorter noteHemi-demi-semi-quaver = a really short noteBlathering on (due to the medication, I swear...)b
