Omen II 1,235
All,Click here for a great new Williams film music CD:http://www.chandos.net/Details.asp?Catalog...er=CHAN%2010007OK, so it's Ralph V. rather than our Johnny, but my recommendation stands. Anyone who likes atmospheric, symphonic film music should check out this cracking CD.Damien - who is just going outside and may be some time. Jim Ware 526
Vaughan Williams is great. I still haven't got around to picking up this CD yet, but it's on my Christmas list. All the Chandos LSO/Hickox Symphonies come highly recommended if any VW fans reading this haven't bought them yet (although I haven't heard Symphony No.5 yet). Marian Schedenig 8,193
Oh, the Hickox discs...I still haven't heard a single one of them. Magnus, have you ever heard The Wasps by RVW? And of course Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis - it's hard to believe you wouldn't like that.
Jim Ware 526
I'd also recommend Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus and The Running Set.
EvanED 1
To tell you the truth, I'm not much of a Vaughn Williams either, even of "Fantasia." Though I do love The Lark Ascending.

ocelot 508
HAH!!! If you guys like John Willimas string writing, Vaughan Willliams is your man. John has taken so much from him. CHeck out the symphonies.
