publicist 4,643
you can look at it that way, but KSM was never a big budget film with A-listers and bigtime director and writers, and yet KOTCS isn't any better than KSM and it had all the tools at its disposal to be a great movie and yet it failed. And still i think the composer came out relatively unscathed (and handsomely paid), while the scorn Goldsmith regularly got for scoring junk is legion and the fee probaly was much leaner, too.Now i don't even remember what all this got to do with AA (and for all we know, JW might have been a guest there, too). Finally, i listened to THE EDGE, which is a rock-solid, if not very adventurous, score. There are themes and motives, which get developed and while the full score certainly wasn't needed, i still don't get Lukas' need to bring it up as an example of Goldsmith writing 'happy tunes'.
