After a long while comparing the two cuts I decided to make this thread.

I am talking about the music not the footage.

I can't remember half of the theatrical versions, I haven't watched those in years. But if they were significantly better, I could remember them.

The theatrical Tower of Cirith Ungol has the uninterrupted fanfare though. I never liked the CR version.

I don't like the TE version, but I also do not like the dissonant material in the EE version, I like the upward thrust of the strings (right after the Evil Times/Evil of the Ring theme statement of the shot of Shagrat)

The theatrical movies simply don't exist anymore for me. If I'm going to invest the time to watch or listen, it's going to be worth it.

I am surprised no one (including myself) noticed the impressive additional choir in the Theatrical version of Dwimorberg compared to the EE version.

Also, the The Battle of the Pelennor fields suits the TE cut better ("Denethor has lost his mind!") for some reason.

The second half of 'Eyes of the White Tower' is one of my favourite cues from the entire trilogy, so obviously I'm going to go with the extended.
