Yes,CE3K was tough for me too.In the early Williams days I remember I only liked listening to Appearence of the Aliens and Resolution/end Credits,but not as much as Star Wars which I had on a suite on the same album.Then later when I got the original CE3K OST I only listened to some of the warmer tracks for a while.Only with the SE I started to listen to the whole c.d.,but I sometimes skip stuff in the Abduction of Barry area of the disk.Even a lot of the Supeman score took me a while to like,especially some of the Kripton music or action music where I got a bit "lost".And dark scores like the Fury took me a lot longer,I didn't like it at all at first. I still have a problem with serious drama score like Rosewood or Stepmom.
