These guys are morons. 20 years into the XXI century, and they choose to retain the "20th Century" part of the name instead of "Fox"? Why? People are more familiarized with Fox than 20th century anyway. Are they going to use Fox, sorry, 20th Century, just to release period movies?

No, they're using it for adult-themed and arthouse fare. The studio can still legally use 'Fox' in the branding, but they opted to rename 20th Century and Searchlight to distance them from the Murdoch-owned Fox channels.

And even though Disney owns it, future 20th Century releases are still copyrighted "© 20th Century Fox Film Corporation" on the films themselves and "© 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment" on the DVD/Blu releases.

More than likely they're rebranding FOX to disassociate from FOX News, America's most watched news network.

Exactly.
