John Williams - Star Wars: Total Run Time of Each Score

This may have been answered before, but what is the run time of each of the Maestro’s scores to Star Wars, by which I mean all music composed and conducted? I know that John Williams provided over 20 hours of music that comprises the Skywalker Saga, but I don’t remember the amount for each Episode.

For the ST here are the full runtimes:

The Force Awakens - 174 minutes

The Last Jedi - 184 minutes

The Rise of Skywalker - 226 minutes

(These are official numbers)

 

The runtimes for TPM and AOTC can be determined by combining the cue lengths in the recording logs, although that doesn't include alternate takes at all. I had to estimate the lengths of some of the inserts and source cues using my edits as a reference.

The Phantom Menace - 127 minutes (approx.)

Attack of the Clones - 119 minutes (approx.)

Revenge of the Sith - 129 minutes (approx.)

 

A New Hope - 93 minutes (approx.)

The Empire Strikes Back - 129 minutes (approx.)

The runtimes for the OT can also be determined from the Special Edition releases - ESB and ROTJ aren't completely accurate because there is a tiny amount of music missing from both of them, but these are approximately accurate:

A New Hope - 91 minutes

The Empire Strikes Back - 125 minutes

Return of the Jedi - 148 minutes

I made some adjustments accounting for clean openings/endings and inserts. I don't have any data for ROTJ at the moment though, especially given the unreleased material.
