Steven Awalt 0
I'm very sorry I wasn't able to post this before the bit was on, but John Williams was on CBS on the Early Show (or some such title). I'll see if I can transcribe his comments for the board here today so people who didn't catch it can read what Mr. Williams said. The interview was about the Kennedy Center Honor (which CBS will be broadcasting next week?hence the CBS interview).
thx99 1,740
A bit late for those on the east coast of the US, but I just happened to catch Julie Chen's interview with Williams this morning while in the waiting room of a car dealership. Chen is apparently interviewing all of the Kennedy Center Honorees leading up to the the Dec. 21st broadcast of the event on CBS. Those on the west coast may be able to catch it!The interview was pretty much standard fare, with no real surprises. He looked great, his voice was strong, and he was as modest as ever in the face of Chen reeling off all of his accolades. Spielberg's voice, however, sounded a bit hoarse; they featured clips from his introduction of Williams at the Honors. Nothing from Perlman's performance of Schindler's List or Slatkin conducting the President's Own, though.Click here for a brief article about the interview. No video clip, though. Maybe they'll post it within the next few days.

Ray Barnsbury 8
Nice article. He really is undendingly modest, a trait which some might find irksome, but that I really admire.Ray Barnsbury
SturgisPodmore 0
He's never felt that he has a rare talent?! Has he heard him?~Sturgis, who agrees with Ray, he's incredibly modest
John Crichton 4
Nah, it's all an act. When the cameras and mirophones are gone people can't stand to be around him how much he talks about himself and how great he is...... John- amazed at how someone so talented can remain so humble, and thinks that many talented people alive today could learn from his example. King Mark 3,631
I wish Williams would say something like "Pff,Mozart,Bethoveen, they do not measure up to the ankle of my genius.Soon I shall be proclaimed the best composer in history,behold!"K.M. Steven Awalt 0
Actually, that article is a transcript of the entire segment (guess I won't have to transcribe it after all). It was brief, but enjoyable, as the text points out.
