Question about the Star Wars trilogy scores

I'm thinking of buying the Star Wars trilogy scores, and I was wondering:

What's the difference between the silver box set

and the gold one?

Because they sell both in the shop near me!

Some help please?

No difference whatsoever......some stores got the Gold ones done as exclusives just as they did with the DVD set - but the content is identical.....

Well, the R1 DVD had a gold cover for the fullscreen release, and the silver (or platinum rather) was the widescreen release.

So for your viewing pleasure, all screenshots in the booklets for the gold release have been cropped to the 4:3 format.

Incidentally Sturgis, it was already like that on the original poster.

I prefer my scores in widescreen, so I got the silver. There's nothing more infuriating than listening to your favorite score cropped to 4:3. This mostly effects counterpoint.

You're such a purist. It makes me sick.

Oh yeah. Good idea.

You might want to leave this release on the shelve and look for the 1997 RCA/Victor releases, which have the same sound quality, but also excellent liner's notes, featuring a detailed analysis of the score.

Although that will perhaps require some more searching around.

Or you can buy this, and you get some nifty screensavers.

And then you could read the liner's notes off of Markus Hable's website.

Whatever you want.

now that is simply the greatest Star Wars poster ever, man, I wish they did it like that now instead of the same ole Struzan crap.
