robthehand 3
I'm thinking of buying the Star Wars trilogy scores, and I was wondering:What's the difference between the silver box setand the gold one? (sorry about the small picture)Because they sell both in the shop near me!Some help please?
Greg1138 3
No difference whatsoever......some stores got the Gold ones done as exclusives just as they did with the DVD set - but the content is identical.....
SturgisPodmore 0
Yes, on both covers, Luke is unrealistically buff and Leia's right leg is superhumanly long.~Sturgis
Mr. Breathmask 555
Well, the R1 DVD had a gold cover for the fullscreen release, and the silver (or platinum rather) was the widescreen release. So for your viewing pleasure, all screenshots in the booklets for the gold release have been cropped to the 4:3 format.Incidentally Sturgis, it was already like that on the original poster. stewdog1 50
I prefer my scores in widescreen, so I got the silver. There's nothing more infuriating than listening to your favorite score cropped to 4:3. This mostly effects counterpoint.

ChrisAfonso 186
Nobody advised him to steer clear of that release, and look out for the RCA albums??
Mr. Breathmask 555
Oh yeah. Good idea. You might want to leave this release on the shelve and look for the 1997 RCA/Victor releases, which have the same sound quality, but also excellent liner's notes, featuring a detailed analysis of the score.Although that will perhaps require some more searching around.Or you can buy this, and you get some nifty screensavers. And then you could read the liner's notes off of Markus Hable's website.Whatever you want.- Marc
