  1. Has anyone listened to all the 15 scores in the short list? Which are worth listening to besides these that I have listened (Society of Snow, Boy and Heron, Poor things, DOD, Oppenheimer) ?
  2. Ok, not the greatest of films, but it's a classic. I assume the aerial shots with the airplane "fights" would be a sensation back then.
  3. A sublime main theme. I'm not so much fan of the scherzo, as are many I presume, but of the quieter moments. I cannot understand why Williams has vetoed The Story of a Woman. It seems to me of almost the same caliber as this one.
  4. Fenton's Shadowlands is a favorite soundtrack, and it also has a track named The Wedding (although it doesn't feature the sublime main theme). You can see here many tracks that you may have missed: https://www.soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/search.php?searchon=track&searchtext=wedding My favorite of all is The Secret Wedding from Braveheart.
  5. Watched this from my newly purchased UHD! (awful cover by the way) Great film of course, with lots of suspense. The score is good too, especially the action cues, but I truly believe it stole the Oscar nomination from the great The Piano.
  6. 3 favorite tracks from: Main Title (TERMINATOR 2 Theme) Desert Suite "It's over" ("Good-bye") I adore this film! And how bad that the UHD is atrocious and can't legally see it as it should be!
  7. I'm not so sure I've read your opinion about the film. Did you like it?
  8. I got (and overpaid in an instance) these blu-rays/UHDs from ebay, because I couldn't find them at amazon!
  9. Yeah, I've listened to this, I think it reminds something from LOST? Or not? or Super 8? I'm not so sure...
  10. You know, I've got this cd before Christmas, and still I haven't listened to it! I just want to listen with a clear mind, doing absolutely nothing else!
  11. I don't understand how this doesn't qualify it as a remake...
  12. Sorry, I haven't followed this score and film. I read the imdb synopsis. Is this a remake of Alive? edit: Ah, never mind. It is..
  13. I have purchased this UHD but it's not among my favorite musicals. I find it somewhat disjointed. Of course I love the classic Singin' in the Rain scene.
  14. Ok, I listened to this too. Quite good, but the Sakamoto one excels. The only Legrand scores I have listened to are now: Wuthering Heights Three Musketeers Robin & Marian (unused) The Umbrellas of Cherbourg Summer of '42
  15. The Empire Strikes Back Star Wars Return of the Jedi The others don't exist for me. (although I did love the one Ewok movie I had seen in my childhood. I should see both now)
  16. A masterpiece of Sakamoto, with a wonderful theme that reminds me of something, but I can't place it. (maybe of some Irish music I had listened to in the past) I love the movie too. I hope it comes to blu-ray soon. Does anyone know if the Legrand score of another film version of the book, is worth it?
  17. Yes, Titanic. The original theatrical presentation.
  18. It's not that difficult, if you know where to look.
  19. No, the best option is a 35mm scan which is "out there"!
  20. well, I cannot put it in words. The faces mostly, look unnatural to me. like this: https://twitter.com/metaplexmovies/status/1735735555181223980 Doesn't the picture on the right look unnatural to you? even if it has more detail?
  21. I haven't watched it but I've seen screenshot comparisons. It does look AI-fake in some scenes, but not as bad as True Lies. That said, I'm keeping my blu-ray and won't purchase it. As I won't purchase the other Cameron films. Sheesh... the guy can ruin his films alright!
