Or as it turned out I got quite sick last night.Alice do you call yellow squash Zuchini? Cause it looks like there some in that bowl.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 Quorn (vegetarian product made from mycoprotien) marinated with garlic and thyme, served with stirfried veggies on a bed of rice and nuts with paprika on the side. The taste and substance of Quorn is not unlike chicken.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 I am not a vegetarian!I had chicken yesterday and I will have bacon tomorrow.
Jay 46,244 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Indian food last night night, Mexican food tonight!
alicebrallice 134 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Alice do you call yellow squash Zuchini? Cause it looks like there some in that bowl.I do! don't think I've ever bought a yellow squash, though. or tasted!
Ren 77 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Zucchini is green and spaghetti/summer squash is yellow
Brónach 1,330 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I ate a massive salad with chicken and an egg and a big vegetarian sandwich.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 why mix chicken and vegetarian?
Ollie 1,375 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 whole milk is wonderfully good for the body, or so I've heard, I expect to be told otherwise though.Whole milk is the only way to go, if I wanted skim, 2% or whatever, I'd add water to my glass.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 pfffftttt.....bag lady!
Quintus 6,499 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 You know what she keeps in the bag don't you? Bird seed!
Brónach 1,330 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Pointless! It wasn't about going vegetarian, it was about the ingredients I felt like putting in the sandwich.Chaac- having to explain his sandwich decisions in an Internet forum.
Quintus 6,499 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Sure, like you're not a Subway Sandwich Artist by day.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 The term vegetarian specifies an intent, a philosophy.A cheese sandwich is usually not referred to as vegetarian food, even though it has no meat.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Alice yellow squash and zucchini are related but taste nothing alike. One is delicious and the there is zucchini which is not.
alicebrallice 134 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 You know what she keeps in the bag don't you? Bird seed!oh the nostalgia! Chaac- having to explain his sandwich decisions in an Internet forum. Alice yellow squash and zucchini are related but taste nothing alike. One is delicious and the there is zucchini which is not.really? I had no idea. sort of assumed they tasted the same. you don't like zucchini!?!? but... it's so awesome. and so usable! zucchini soup, zucchini stew, zucchini chips, zucchini pasta etc etc. love that stuff.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I would never consider using it for anything. but yellow squash is great fried, boiled, broiled, baked, grilled, sautee'd, boiled is my favorite.it makes a great casserole, and you can eat the blooms too.
Jay 46,244 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Grilled up hamburgers, chicken sausage, and a veggie patty for marcy at my parent's house yesterday for mother's day. First hamburger of the year, it was delicious
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I want to grill some burgers, but I have to buy my new grill first.
Jay 46,244 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 My parents have a nice Webber grill, way better than the cheap one we have at our condo. But we won't get a new one until we buy a house
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I've had nice grills, and cheap grills but when it comes down to it I want charcoal. I just want a combo grill and smoker with a large surface and a separate chamber for the charcoals for the smoking. I really want a big green egg but I'm not spending nearly a thousand bucks for that.the one I want is on sale at Wally World. I will pick it up in a few weeks.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 Bacon, kidney beans and a stew of mushrooms, onions and paprika.
BLUMENKOHL 1,110 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Bacon, kidney beans and a stew of mushrooms, onions and paprika.I dare say that looks good!
Wojo 2,458 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Bacon is like candy in this country. It's hard to have only one piece. You want to eat the whole pack, then buy more. If you have the willpower though, good for you. It looks thicker, though, than typical breakfast bacon eaten in the States.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 you eat a lot of Kidney beans, are they among your favorites?we never eat those, but we consume a lot of navy and great northern beans, black eyed peas, and field peas.I personally love ford hook lima beans, but I also love speckled butter beans, tonight it's waffle nights for Joe, and a southwestern salad for Dave.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 I do enjoy them over regular brown beans yes.Koray, still not sure why one piece of bacon is weird to you?
