JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Sorry Koray it costs us 27 to 28 bucks each time we go. We each get a burger and fries and a soda or sweet tea. Drinks and tax Koray. I'd eat at five guys before ever going back to Red Robins. We spent 23 at Steak and Shake. I had a Wisconsin triple butter cheeseburger with vinegar and salt fries and a side of chili spaghetti. Dave just got a double loaded cheese burger with plain fries. I had a Coke a cola he had a Hersey's Dark Chocolate shake and a bowl of chili. We got a strawberry shake to go.The best part of the meal was Dave trying the vinegar and salt fries and his total freak out. His reaction was priceless and unexpected because I thought they were awesome and it never occured that he might have a 180 degree reaction. On of life's funny moments not caught on camera. The last time we went to Steak and shake I had the royal which was the fried egg cheeseburger. It was good but I was surprised I didn't love it. On the way home stopped at a pecan orchard and got 3 pounds of cracked pecans. OMG they are fresh and amazing. I have to get eggs but I think I will make a pecan pie this week.
Wojo 2,458 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Hamburger at Five Guys is $6.19 while a Bacon Cheeseburger is $7.89. Fries are 3-5 and a drink is another 3. I could see one hungry man's meal costing $16 before tax if he needs cheese, bacon, and all the large fries to himself.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 As much as I love bacon I don't want it on a burger. We may get doubles. We're big eaters
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I did pick up a couple of porterhouse steaks. They are sweating right now while the potatoes bake. I've got two salads chilling and some Hawaiian bread to bake. Found some new Vidalia onion salad dressing. Hope this brand isn't too sweet. I'll light the grill in about 20 minutes. It's about 60 degrees outside on the way to 40. Perfect grilling weather. There are more grasshoppers than I've seen in ages. Old wives tales says that calls for a harsh winter.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 What makes Hawaiian bread different from other breads?
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 It's sweet. Have you never tried it? If not get some. Nice dense yet light texture.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I was in Little Rock yesterday unfortunately the World Cheese Dip festival was today. Apparently turnout was terrific and vendors were running out. Luckily Dave and I split a large bowl of white with a dollop of pico De gallo. Yum.

Jay 46,245 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Pot luck dinner with a bunch of friends. Mac and cheese and chili for sure are on the menu.
Xander Harris 9,677 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I'm going to get a Mickey Mouse pretzel from the cart near Star Tours in Disneyland. Maybe the corn chowder at French Market in New Orleans Square.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 We don't know. Any suggestions?I'm cooking a meatloaf in brown cajun gravy, mashed potatoes, and some pretty yellow squash that I will pan fry.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Made a Dutch chocolate cake too with a nice white frosting.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 What was Dutch about it?
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I don't know, it's just the flavor I got, but it's good. It's basically devils food.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 As an Atheist, I am offended by your use of the term "devil" to describe a Dutch food item.
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 So you're saying the Dutch are basically devils?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 No. There is no such thing as the devil, or God. They represent antiquated believe systems that are slowly but surely being phased out in favor of empirical sciences with a far more accurate view on subjects like our creation, or the natures of temptation or evil. The concept of a Devil is little more then an excuse to shed responsibility for committing acts of evil.
Wojo 2,458 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 There's no devil. It's just God when He drinks.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 Offensive!None was intended. I respect whatever religion you choose to align yourself with.In my eyes they are all the same anyway
Xander Harris 9,677 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Just an update. I ended up getting the veggie burger and fries with a Budweiser at the restaurant with the toppings bar near Soarin' Over California where they crank Goldsmith and Williams music in the whole area. Then I got a large popcorn on Main Street in a commemorative Haunted Mansion 45th anniversary bucket, which I downed while waiting for the fireworks to start.
Wojo 2,458 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Yes indeed. Nobody should drink Budweiser.
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Piss beer should be illegal.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 I love me a good veggie burger. I made some bean burgers that came out great.
Jay 46,245 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I got sweet potato chili cooking in the crock pot right now, my house smells awesome
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Stefan, that dutch chocolate cake is sinfully delicious.
Wojo 2,458 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 We made chicken tikka masala over basmati.
RedBard 71 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Marinated Steak and homemade cream of broccoli soup.Perfect for the coming winter.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 Olives.Cardboard and feta cheese?Knackebröd and cottage cheese
nightscape94 968 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 They look like drunk pop tarts. Omen II 1
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 I dont know what that means?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 I have no idea what pop tarts are.
Wojo 2,458 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 American toaster pastries with fruit or candy like filling.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Red Barons frozen supreme with mushrooms and Totinos (used to be Genos) Pizza rolls or as I say pizza egg rolls.
Jay 46,245 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Chicken wings for me tonight. I don't like the local pizza place we order from here at my poker game in general, but they have good wings. Crispy and flavorful. Not that big though. It's kind of a messy food to eat when playing cards, but it's one of the only things on the menu I really like here.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 Me too, deep fried.Pity I cant have any.I can have an apple, a boiled egg and knackebrod tomorroe
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I prefer baked wings to fried.Buffalo Wild Wings always has a commercial every few minutes. Seem popular but it's got the worst food.We likes Zaxby better food at half the price.Dave is treating me to Sumo's Japanese steak house tonight. Filet and scallops.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 Small deep fried wings are devils food!Lost 1 kilo!!!
Wojo 2,458 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Never been to a BWWThey're too expensive for what you get. Stick to your neighborhood wing joint or make them yourself.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Temps in the twenties tonight so I'm making chicken and dumplings. Comfort food for cold weather.
