  1. Just listened to this too. While Sarde isn't great in my book like let's say John Williams, with easily recognizable melodies, he never fails to deliver good music.
  2. In case anyone wants to complete his blu-ray filmography of John Williams, Penelope and Not but the Brave are part of a sale at Movie Zyng, where you can buy 4 Warner Archive blu-rays for $49. https://www.moviezyng.com/sale-items?microstoreid=158 (I want 40-50 titles from that sale, and don't know what to pick first! But those 2 movies, are not part of what I want)
  3. It has some very good moments, but honestly I found it uneven. I expected more...
  4. Never heard of this. How is the score by Doyle? edit: never mind. I just listened to it at spotify.
  5. I've waited for years for UHDs of Armageddon and The English Patient, but my patience wore off.
  6. I have seen the film once or twice, but honestly I don't remember a thing about Barry's score. I am not sure I even noticed it in the film.
  7. I would love Gerard Butler, but I guess he's too old? (54) My next choice is Tom Hardy.
  8. Exquisite, elegant score with nice melodies. The thing is I didn't catch any recurring theme on first listen...
  9. Just listened to it too. Wasn't so interested in the choir music, as it sounded more like source music, but in the rest. Quite good music!
  10. Another expensive purchase from ebay! I really should purchase blu-rays as soon as they become available, and not to wait until they become OOP!
  11. Quite good score. Tonal, dramatic, romantic, with gorgeous melodies...
  12. Although studio Ghibli has done much better movies, I was glad that the Boy and the Heron won the Oscar.
  13. Classic! I don't even love the movie but I bought it nonetheless to support magnificent restorations, like the Arrow is one (unlike the latest Cameron 4Ks which seem to be awful!)
  14. 103 euros!! Another one from ebay, a release coming from a box. 4k of course.
  15. I'm afraid it didn't do anything to me. Maybe, besides some old scores that I love, I'm not that into big fantasy-adventure scores anymore...
  16. I used to love the score to TITANIC, but in later years I realized that it's not even among the best Horner scores. (in my opinion, that is , of course).
  17. I just finished listening to it! I agree with your assessment. I'm not familiar at all with Donaggio, but this was impressive indeed.
  18. Is anyone having issues logging in facebook?
  19. I don't know. I haven't watched it. I watched only the theatrical version.
  20. Are these Dragon scores that good? I tried to listen to the first one, but I found it too bombastic for my ears, as I find most of Powell's music. I found it curious that all three of them were also released as sheet music books from Omni Music.
  21. I just discovered this release from Neumation's facebook. I don't know if anyone grew up with this series but this was one of my most wanted TV animation soundtracks. Alas, the 17 minutes of this release don't include all the music cues that I remembered from the show (I just browsed the first episode to confirm that there was other music indeed too). Neumation says this must be a teaser. I hope so!
