  1. Ahh yeah, I'm thinking of the original. *Looks up IMDB*...well I've never heard much Edelman music anyway.
  2. Related to the songs thread - are there any movies that you actually prefer some well chosen songs from, over the score? A few examples for me would be Being John Malkovich and 13 Going on 30. The first has a really nice classical piece at the start and the 2nd has quite a few pop/rock songs that I took a liking to 8O Oh, and Ghostbusters 2 has some really cool songs, such as 'On Our Own' and 'Higher and Higher' and Bernstein's Main Title just doesn't attract me. Back to the Future is kinda unique in this respct, because I love nearly all the songs as well as the score
  3. Like robthehand, really depends on the kind of song. Those with no relation to the score (pretty obvious example here) should go at the end, or preferably there should be some error at pressing and they not be included at all If they're by the composer and they fit the mood of the score, I'm fine with them where they occur in the movie (such as Polar Express); and if they're normal songs but work with the movie, I'll put them at the end (for example, Randy Newman's I Love L.A. I feel goes well after 'Cleaning Rain' in Volcano, even though the song isn't actually on the score album ( 8O ) ).
  4. I do just listening to that cue And I think the dinosaur is amazing, I wonder why they can't do the same with people these days. ~richuk - who thinks some of the CG people in HP&PS look far from perfect.
  5. Nice to see you thinking positively about this score king mark I'm really looking forward to this now, a little over a week to go.
  6. Indeed. There are some clips online at Decca's site, but accessible through http://www.james-newton-howard.com - good stuff and I particularly like 'Empire State Building'.
  7. Jurassic for me - I grew up with it and I listen to the trilogy (yes, that includes JP3) far more than Raiders. Indy is great of course, but I just prefer Jurassic
  8. Given that we were meant to get it yesterday, I think he could be let off with a warning
  9. And after 2 date changes, they're still not clever enough to tell anyone and my order still insists I should have gotten it today. But yeah, I suppose it was inevitable. 2 more weeks to go...
  10. Pretty much yeah. And it isn't 'this DVD' - do they know anything about this thing?
  11. This is all just making me feel faint 8O (well I'm not feeling great anyway but all this doesn't help) I'm now really doubting that we're getting it before the US, despite what my order on amazon says. Luckily I have a lot of work at the moment that's doing a good job of distracting me from this 'performance'.
  12. Well, it could be 3 days or 10 days to go. I just want this music real bad. I bet they're all lying in a warehouse somewhere just waiting for the monkeys to make their mind up
  13. No less than 3 different dates...god knows when we're going to get this thing I'm sure this wouldn't happen if retailers actually gave a damn about soundtracks. Oh well, c'est la vie.
  14. gkgyver - couldn't have put it better, I don't know what they'd gain from the extra 7 days, god knows what the heck their marketing dept is doing 8O I guess I'll just have to wait until Monday & see if I get a dispatch e-mail from amazon or not.
  15. Yeah, I noticed that too. The fact that they mention 'May It be' twice makes me cringe - do they still think they need to use that to promote the set? I really like the song, but Shore is the star here and if being from the biggest franchise so far of this millenneum isn't good enough for them, I don't know what is
  16. Well my order details at Amazon.co.uk still say an ETA of 29th-30th November and £32.99 (the price when I ordered it)...I still have some faith But if it has been changed, they're really f*****g up this release, damn you reprise Soooo not cool
  17. I guess we may never know whether it was studio pressure or genuine creative differences, but I simply don't buy the 'Peter didn't like a lot of it' and 'Shore refused to change it' thing. Surely he made synth mockups and jackson approved them first? And I just can't see Shore refusing to change something, he doesn't seem the sort of guy. Gotta say I'm more on Roald's side with this Now roll on FotR!
  18. 28th November, right? I'll wait until after Christmas, unless someone buys it for me. :spiny: I'm sure my parents would love to use this as an xmas present for someone, but I'm not willing to wait any longer than I have to for this I should have it by 28th, 29th Nov latest (8-9 days to go) from Amazon.co.uk
  19. I thought it said Howard Shore and i said huh? beerchug Except I thought he was referring to Shore, as in his first name....goddamn similar names
  20. Looks like we're not getting the alternate Breaking of the Fellowship...damn ...unless it's on the DVD, which we don't know the contents of.
  21. Online risks are sooo overrated these days. Plus I've ordered from Play.com many times, and apart from taking a few days to deliver, you got nothin' to worry about 10 days to go (I'm ticking the days off on the calendar), and I'm going to begin a FotR fast now...
  22. Maybe. I like many parts of it, but I guess I need to see the movie before giving my full judgement. Even then it won't be immediately what with FotR and probably Geisha.
  23. I think he's generally good, but I wasn't impressed with some of the editing in The Terminal, mainly some noticeable 'movement' errors in the scene with the pills guy. Then again, Spielberg wouldn't use him if he didn't think he was one of the best
