  1. I am still furious about the ridiculous missing out of the ultra-dramatic ending to "Anakin's Dark Deeds". I am still furious about the ridiculous inclusion of the Coruscant (ie NOT NEW) fanfare as the only fanfare on the OST, given the quality of the rest of the (NEW) fanfares (ie EXCELLENT). I am still furious about the ridiculous inclusion of the (NOT NEW) Padme's death music, but the exclusion of the (NEW) Padme's funeral/Death Star building counterpointing, which must be one of Williams' greatest counterpointing in his career. I am still furious that the CD is 70 minutes long. Why not put as much music as possible on? I am milding annoyed by the 13 minutes of end credits, including at least 5 of the Throne Room which were not ever in the film, which could have been replaced by other music. Although Leia's theme is a treat (best recording ever of it?) and BotH is short enough that I do not get bored, and the transition is good. (Edit - realising I have not actually answered the question). Yes, my appreciation has increased.
  2. Duel of the Fates is there, and I do not think it is tracked. The Emperor's theme is also played during the conversation between Yoda, Obi-Wan and Mace on the Clone Troop Transport taking Yoda to his battle group to Kashyyyk. The Force theme becomes very much Obi-Wan's theme for much of the film, as it was for much of Episode IV. There is definitely some themeage (my invention) during Mace's death. Unfortunetely, at the moment we cannot properly hear it (the Emperor's "unlimited poooooooweeeeeerrrrr" is just too loud).
  3. The Stone theme, which reprises in Chamber of Secrets is used a lot. There are a plethora of sub-themes and motifs (e.g. Dobby, Lockhart, Family x2, Hogwarts Forever, Quidditch March). Dunno how many of them you would count as "major" but there you are.
  4. Jack: given that from the games we now have a wealth of new unreleased cues, have any/all/some been incorporated into your edit? I could go and listen to the whole thing again, but TBH I can't be bothered just to check where it is "music" and where it is "film audio". If yes, thanks. If no, when are you thinking of doing it?
  5. I agree except for the statement of the Rebel Fanfare, and maybe the music when the Jedi crash in Grievous' ship.
  6. "Use my knowledge, I beg you. Only then will you be able to save your John Williams, from certain death..."
  7. "Are you going to ban me?" "I would certainly like to" "I know. I can feel your anger..."
  8. Or it could be that it was originally wirtten for this scene, and then rescored to fit another? Or the other way around? Who knows... (at least until we can get a better release without the dialogue and - especially - SFX).
  9. Complete Hook and complete AI would make me very happy
  10. The poor bastard who actually has that address is gonna get a nasty shock when he checks his emails next....
  11. Just went to MF and read their whole thread about your edit. All I can say is... Oh dear, do I pity them and their board.
  12. Oh come on. Let's be fair. The real tragedy is not that Shore and Williams were compare to Mozart and Beethoven. The question on everyone's lips is: Why aren't Horner and Vangelis mentioned?!
  13. Nice arselicking. Let's see what JackChapple says...
  14. Sorry I meant Coruscant's Warm Welcome, not Coming Down. Both are awful trackings, but CWW is worse. And yes, that is an Imperial March statement (sounds a lot like some of the best from ESB's "sinister" moments)
  15. By the way the new Senate music is very well integrated - one of the best edits in the whole thing! And it isnt all Escape from Naboo. The worst bit is the "Force Push" to the "Firing Missiles" bits of The Tide Turns. That pains me even thinking about it.
  16. Worst cue has to be "Going Down". The music choice, editting and general appropriateness of mucic to scene is appalling. Shame on whoever did this (I am assuming it was not Williams).
  17. Having just listened to it, I think it may be a motif, at the very least. It is at the very least the same bit of music, I am pretty sure. It is creepy, and worked very well in the film if I remember correctly. Nice spot!
  18. Get rid of Across the Stars - the theme is already in Love Pledge/The Arena.
  19. Considering the materials you have to work with, an outstanding edit. Now we can hear it in its full glory, the score really is brilliant. A number of outstanding moments are complimented by a large amount of clever underscore. Not too much of the boring TPM Coruscant-type boring underscore is very nice! Some of the looping and tracking is painful, though. The Grievous ship crash landing at the beginning is far far worse than I thought it was - and I thought it was bad... Still, roll on a (real) Ultimate Edition!
  20. Does Grievous have a "theme" as such in ROTS? I am a bit confused cos there is definitely the makings of a theme - it plays as we first see Grievous at the beginning of the film - but then it is rarely used again when we see him elsewhere. Is that his theme? Or is his thematic material more a style (percussion/brass flourishes)? Or is it something completely different?
  21. DotF has an elegance that BotH does not have as an action cue. So for me it is between DotF and ATS. I went for DotF, because as a concert arrangement it is better, even if it is not used particularly well in the film.
  22. Welcome! It is clear that your tastes will be different to those of many here - but that is great. IF everyone agreed all the time it would be pointless to post here. Hope you enjoy your stay.
  23. There are some painful edits in ROTS. The one that stands out as truly awful is the sequence when they are crashing Grievous' ship into Coruscant at the beginning. The use of TPM music (particularly the entirely inappropriate The Tide Turns) is bad enough. The way it is editted is worse. It just sounds painful. Worst bit of the worst editted sequence: has to be the edit from the "force push" fanfare to the bit (in TPM) when Anakin fires the missiles. It just sounds horrible. Also the loop of the AOTC Arena music as the clones are marching up the steps of the Jedi Temple sounds all wrong.
  24. Add to that list Buckbeak's Flight
