I happen to love this film. It's a clunky B movie, but it gave a boost to Jim Cameron and James Horner's career, and this score was one of the reasons James Horner was hired for Star Trek II. Also an excellent companion score to Humanoids from the Deep. I am praying this is complete / expanded from the original master tapes, which would fulfill a major part of my Holy Grail list.

Got mine, and the slipcase is good. The presentation is great, IMHO. Cover looks better in person than the graphic would suggest. Rip and tag session tonight.

History has ALSO shown that false accusations occur, and often enough to form a pattern. Whenever these things happen, there is a lot of accusations and little evidence at first. It takes time a diligence to get to the truth, and we have to err on the side of caution lest we make an error in either party's direction. This is why we have a presumption of innocence.

Do we know who conducted the cues for this score? I suspect the Adventures of Han may have been conducted by Mr. Williams, but if I can I want to set the tags up correctly when I rip it to my music archive.

To my mind the poster options are fine. They do the job. The music is the real bonus here, and although I can stream it, I live having a physical release of it, and including "The Adventures of Han" makes it complete to the movie. Listened to the samples, and of course it sounds amazing to me, as did the digital stream of the Deluxe Edition.

Ordered of course. And now we wait.

I pre-ordered the 2 CD version of the soundtrack. As much as I LOVE this film, and the music, I cannot justify the cost of the 4 CD set. But I am REALLY looking forward to the score basically film-complete.

I will ABSOLUTELY be getting this release day. I hope you have a LOT of copies, you'll need them.

I ultimately traded in my 3 CD set once I got the 2 CD set, and it was because of my preference for the trimmed presentation. The extras are an absolute goldmine, however I did not listen to them much after the first couple of times. Differences in the mixing / mastering etc. are very subtle but excellent. A part of me regrets trading it in, but it is still the best decision for curating my collection. It also means that someone else can discover the fantastic music and this release, and that warms my icy-cold heart.

Revisiting this thread makes me want to revisit these scores.

The 2 CD release is about the best version outside of the 3 CD set, and has some tweaks in the main programme that are excellent. if you don’t have the 3 CD set, get the 2 CD release. It is absolutely worth it.

La-La Land’s Superman release is from better sources than any other release, and had the input of John Williams from Mike Matessino. in short, it is as close to definitive you will ever get, and the best the score has ever sounded.

For that, we have the Varda.

My copy arrived today, and it sounds great. Excellent early Horner. Now for Intrada to tackle the big one... BBTS.

I might have to add this to my want list. I have Humanoids, and really am enjoying it.

Samples sound interesting. Can't wait to get this one, good early Horner fun. Of course I'm really hoping they do a complete Battle Beyond the Stars.

This looks really cool. I’m not a vinyl person, but these look fantastic. IMHO the LLLR vinyl with the Jim Titus artwork looks best.

I hope some day soon we get a reissue of this score from this mastering. Even a straight re-issue would be perfect.

The LLLR is like night and day compared to the OST. it also recreates the original album from the original masters, and it sounds superb.

I held off the digital release because I want a physical copy of this score. This is an excellent and fun work and deserves the physical release.

I swear by the LLLR version, and have passed on my Intrada copy for someone else to discover flipping through CDs. Sound quality there is a slight improvement (IMHO), and having the actual film version of the Main Title and The Ambush are the key reasons I upgraded.
