  1. I've watched the movie, yes. It was during the scene in the crazy Mexican's house during the party, right? I recall thinking exactly the same. I heard some more sort-of familiar music as well, but don't recall what anymore. I think the entire movie is best forgotten. I was hoping it would be as much fun as Asterix: Mission Cleopatra, but it most certainly wasn't. If ever you want to see a good and fun French cartoon-based movie, I recommend watching that one instead.
  2. I don't care how I'd get a proper full version of the music from Episodes I-III, as long as I get it. If they'd release proper versions, I'd happily buy them. If they don't, I hope someone can give me a hand in getting some bootleg version or something. I'd make them myself according to the instructions available through this site, but unfortunately my sound editing skills are quite bad. Even if I do manage to make a reasonably good edit, I keep hearing the edit because I made the edit myself.
  3. Last Crusade for me. It's the score that got me into film music in the first place. Defenitly a great one. Bring on the expanded edition!
  4. What about Hook? Wouldn't that one count?
  5. No votes for Raiders yet? Talking about shocking! I'll vote Raiders then; defenitly the one I like best.
  6. Since you have been talking about Nixon a few posts up, thought I'd ask here: Although I do have the music, I never really listened to it. I really like the first track, but never listened to the rest. Are there any other really nice tracks on the album? I can't imagine that the score is in any way bad though. I don't think John Williams can write bad music, unless he'd try on purpose; and even then he might fail. :mrgeen:
  7. The movie looks quite good to me. I love the time setting. Great time setting for a good adventure movie, which it seems to be. I also don't mind that James Newton Howard has replaced Howard Shore. Of course I cannot make a good judgement, having only ever heard the LotR music by Howard Shore, but the LotR music was, although excellent, not really fun and adventurous. So I don't know if Howard Shore would come up with some good adventurous, bombastic and fun music. On the other hand, James Newton Howard has written some very fine music for adventure movies already (Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Hidalgo, Waterworld, Dinosaur and, to a slightly lesser extent, Treasure Planet), so I'm hoping for some nice and fun adventure music from James Newton Howard. Even if it won't be Oscar-worthy, I still expect it to be fun.
  8. A few years ago I downloaded The Raiders March from the internet. After that, I started downloading a lot. The first soundtrack I managed to get complete was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, which I absolutely loved. After that I got seriously hooked. Lucky for me, a few months ago I encountered the Last Crusade soundtrack in a store, so I bought it immediately. I tend to first download soundtracks and then, when I like them enough, buy them. :g1
  9. Do you people reckon John Williams might use some of his own themes he wrote for the Olympic Games? The movie is about that, isn't it, or am I completely confused?
  10. Ah. Thanks for that. I supposed you must've been sure. At least I know you really ARE sure now. I was wondering, because I still do think it would've worked well with that scene. Does anyone agree with me that "The Elevator Scene" would make a good score for the crash landing scene? Or am I alone on that one? Ah... Well... Who cares? BTW: FTP stands for File Fransfer Protocol. It allows you to put files on webspace somewhere. If you have the link and login codes.
  11. I have already got quite a large movie music collection, but I am, of course, always on the lookout for more. I like bold, brassy, adventurous music best, but also like anything else, as long as it's excellent. I have attached below a list of all the soundtracks I have that I enjoy. Could you have a look at it and tell me what I'm still missing out on? I want to get the Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (Harry Gregson-Wiliams) soundtrack for sure, but it seems to be very badly available, either from regular stores, as well as online ones. Could you give me a hint as to where I can find it? I'm also thinking it might be nice to get some of the old Korngold scores. Do you know what releases are good and have good sound quality? I have some tracks of The Sea Hawk and Captain Blood, but the sound qaulity is horrid. My soundtrack list: - 1941 (1979), John Williams - A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), John Williams - Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), James Newton Howard - Back to the Future I: Score (1985), Alan Silvestri - Back to the Future II (1989), Alan Silvestri - Back to the Future III (1990), Alan Silvestri - Born on the Fourth of July (1989), John Williams - Catch Me If You Can (2002), John Williams - Close Encounters of the Third Kind (2002), John Williams - Cutthroat Island (Original Soundtrack) (1995), John Debney - Cutthroat Island (Complete Score) (1995), John Debney - Dinosaur (2001), James Newton Howard - Dragonheart (1996), Randy Edelman - E.T. 12. PoA for me. RotS is also highly excellent, but PoA is still better. But I'm slightly biased, beause I'm quite a fervent Harry Potter fan. I didn't like the PoA movie too much though. The score truly was it's saving grace as far as I'm concerned.
  13. I'll get it the day it becomes available. I was quite disappointed when I found out it isn't released here today, but in two weeks. I really liked the movie.
  14. I have got an expanded release of Hook, so I can listen to the full-length Ultimate War track. (Although there are some rather annoying pops and clicks in my versions of the tracks. AARRGGHH!! ). I do also have the Episode I Ultimate Edition, but as you know, the Battle of Naboo is rather bad, so I just can't compare the two. I wished I had a proper version of the Battle of Naboo. I wished I had a proper version of the entire Episode I soundtrack. Judging by the UE, the music is more excellent than the OST would suggest to me, but the mess they edited it into doesn't really help. I suppose nobody would be willing to share a proper Phantom Menace edit, right? I would be fine with an old edited version that would exclude recent finds. As long as it's listenable and excellent. I listened to the low-quality version on Elvis Jones' and wished I had that in proper quality.
  15. I once happened to accidentally run into the link to the old FTP, from where I downloaded the game music. I then tried to make the edits described on the first post of this thread, but have been terribly unsuccesful. Whatever I do, I keep hearing the edits I made. That is when the edit would work at all. Sometimes, the music would just mess up big time when I'd try and mix it in. And I really do want to have an expanded release I can listen to without feeling sick with all the edits. The same goes for The Phantom Menace. I do have all the music (OST, UE and most of the game tracks), but my editing skills are horrible. Drives me nuts! I suppose there would be no chance of people sharing some properly edited tracks, right? Ah... Well... Never mind then. BTW: I know you don't hand out the address of the new FTP to newbies like me (and rightly so; after what happened last time), but might you ever get to consider me trustworthy enough, I hope you'll consider sharing the link with me as well. By the way: I was wondering about a little something. There is this piece of music that si being referred to as "The Elevator Scene". When I first listened to the music, I always pictured this music to accompany Grievous' flagship crashing down on Coruscant. I reckon it would've worked very well with that scene. Better than reusing the "The Tide Turns" track. I was wondering if it actually might have been composed for that scene. I suppose you have a good reason to think it was meant for the Elevator scene, but just in case you never considered the possibility, I thought I'd mention it.
