  1. Yes, the legal way is always the best. I thank LLL for this new edition which is necessary and expected for 22 years. The previous edition was so frustrating. I'm just afraid to experience another frustration if the three unreleased songs are missing. And to have to wait again 22 years...
  2. I agree with you @publicist. That's why the presence of the three missing songs will largely determine my interest of this new edition. Because they are not in the promo and will add a new touch of messiness, to use your expression. The orchestra comes at the end of the album, if that can help motivate you.
  3. Ok sorry, as LLL had to acquire the rights to use Chariots of Fire to publish this new edition, I thought the subtext of the Bespin sentence was that Vangelis' death made it easier to acquire the rights. So I wanted to make it clear that this was not the case
  4. This edition of How the Grinch Stole Christmas was supposed to be released in 2020 for the 20th anniversary of the film but has been postponed by the COVID.
  5. For those who are interested, the lyrics of the songs are visible on these pages: "How I Love Who-liday Shopping" https://www.mann-weil.com/lyrics34.html "Who-bilation" and "Come, Come All Ye Whos" https://www.mann-weil.com/lyrics36.html For various reasons that will be explained in the book, these songs are barely audible and shortened in the film. This new edition is probably the only opportunity to release them. I hope LLL was able to find them.
  6. I hope there will be the three unreleased songs: "Who-bilation" whose melody is repeated several times in the middle of the story, but also "How I Love Who-liday Shopping" and "Come, Come All Ye Whos". Listening to these songs would allow us to understand all the work done by James Horner and Cynthia Weil before the filming.
  7. At one time you could also add : 9.5 - 30-second audio clips in 64 kbps MP3 format
  8. I saw the whale scene. There is a very nice theme by Simon Franglen, reminiscent of Mighty Joe Young. Concerning the scene that you find boring, I think it's perfect to show the actors' emotions. The progress since 13 years is really visible.
  9. Like the percussion player and the music editors, Eric Rigler just confirmed to me that "A Lucky Hand" was recorded in September 1997. For information Eric Rigler is in London this weekend for Titanic Live. https://www.royalalberthall.com/tickets/events/2022/titanic-live/
  10. Yes I had fun putting the music back on the film and it works perfectly.
  11. My modest contribution: http://jameshorner-filmmusic.com/willow-expanded-edition-our-exclusive-review/
  12. Yes we managed to get the authorizations with the intention to publish this video on June 22. Unlike the concert which remained online only 24 hours. This video will stay.
  13. Promise me you won't call the insane asylum if I tell you that one of the chapters of the book lists the 1187 appearances of the motif, with timecode in the films and albums, and also a description of the scenes and orchestrations.
  14. As usual just after the appearance of the Willow page on the Intrada website, I will publish a review of this new edition on James Horner Film Music.
  15. Here is the full performance of A Forest Passage from the concert in Szczecin, Poland, on 13th May 2022. Thank you to Sara and Emily Horner, and the Szczecin Philharmonic for granting permission to publish the recording. Enjoy!
  16. @Jay And Doug just added: source: http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8936
  17. You're welcome. The recording dates for The Pagemaster can be found on page 864 of this PDF. https://lso.co.uk/images/pdf/DiscographyLSOWeb2018b.pdf
  18. Note that the day of October 21, 1995 was devoted to additional sessions for Balto in the morning and for Jumanji the afternoon.
  19. This is a mistake on the booklet. Pagemaster was recorded in August. The book will offer a chronological list with dates of 90% of the recordings. I was able to complete the list thanks to James Horner's collaborators and also by paying for research at the AFM local 47.
  20. The last rehearsal has just finished. Everything is ready. 😍 We are excited and proud. It's going to be great! 🥳 We are all delighted with the magnificent playing of the orchestra, and we are very grateful to the team of the Szczecin Philharmonic for helping us to continue the musical legacy of James Horner. 🙏 See you in 5 hours to follow the concert by following this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f94zLVD0fmE The video will remain online 24 hours after the end of the concert.
  21. In fact I changed my mind following your reactions on April 20th but I did not express it immediately because it was late in France at that time. Then on Wednesday I took some time to study the subject with you. In my post on Wednesday when I talk about "Love Joy Chase" between 0:22 and 1:24, I talk about the video [TITANIC] - "The Lucky Ticket" (Complete Score / Film Version) posted by RadioKidCharlemagne. And I say that this is not what we hear in the film. That's why I contacted the two musicians, I'm looking with you for the source of this musical passage missing from the 4CD edition. The confusion for the last 3 days is probably due to my English which is not perfect? For the moment I have no reason to change the content of the book where the people who worked on the project say that the track heard in the film was recorded in September 1997. To this day this remains for me the most plausible version of the story. (A little off topic, I wanted the book to be above all an "oral history" where there are a lot of quotes.)
  22. Just to remind you that the concert is in one week. I copy and paste the text I just published on social networks: After more than four years of development and preparations, we are now less than one week away from the first downbeat of the concert "James Horner - The Emotionalist". May 13th 2022 will undoubtedly be a night to remember. To experience this unique and unforgettable event, you have two options: - Buy one of the last 30 tickets still available and join us in the beautiful hall of the Szczecin Philharmonic. - Watch the live-stream of the concert, on the orchestra's YouTube-channel, next Friday at 7pm (UTC+2) Central European time, 6 pm London time, 1 pm on the American East Coast, and 10 am on the West Coast. 23. @StRuPiE Yes, you are absolutely right about "Lovejoy Chase". I made a mistake in my April 20th post about this track. As soon as I get Eric's answer I will share it.
