  2. Yes, I'm a separatist. Québec will be a country one day... not soon, but one day :-) Ra-Ra-Rasputin! Starting this with a little Heineken. Week-end!!!
  3. Many french speaking artists from Québec are well-known in France and they are touring there very often, they are not delegitimized because they do that. Want I try to say is that english canadians don't have their own culture, they are like americans from USA. They do music like people from USA do, they listen to USA music, they watch USA TV shows and USA movies. And many "canadian" born artists, live today in the USA. They shows up in a Canadian documentary here and there to say they are proud of their roots... but... they live their life like USA international stars.... and many people don't even knows they are canadians. It's the perception I have of english canadian artists, maybe I'm totally wrong... and maybe I just don't care about any of them! ;-)
  4. Canadians legends... who all live in the USA. Listen to some Charlotte Cardin, Alex Nevsky or Karim Ouellet, they are great Québécois young artists.
  5. Missouri! I Will never buy this deluxe anniversary set just for the OST album. 4K, I don't even know what it is! Prepare some FLACs for me please!
  6. Nobody cared about Canaday Day on July first, do you really think I care about July 14?
  7. Score and OST Album.... condemned to live separately for eternity.... Pathetic.
  8. The Beach boys, that's my era (well, musically) The Ventures also.
  9. It's like you would ask Williams Ross to arrange parts of the final movement of Beethoven ninth symphony for a movie scene. It still will be Beethoven... but rearranged. I don't see any problem here. No arranger/conductor would ever take the credits over Beethoven!
  10. I wonder why people don't ask what part of None but the brave was really composed by John Williams, and what was the real implication of Morris Stoloff in the recording process.
  11. Did someone forced you to listen to that? We can try to talk to him if you want.
  12. Yes I hope new engineers know how to put digital music on LPs now :-) But the "Analog tape-->Digital mastering-->LP" process is for me... nan... it's impossible, it don't work.
  13. Surely, you can't put a digital mastering "as-it-is" on a LP. LPs needs a special mastering, made for them, some frequencies have to be changed (and even the mastering of each track have to be adapted depending if they will be placed on a inner or outter groove!). It's so awefull when we think ot it!
  14. I don't know the real story, but I always assumed that JW wrote all the music, on a certain preliminary version of the movie or just the scenario... ...Then Ross conducted it for the recordings sessions and adaptated each bit of it, to correct fit each final scene with the final montage, till the last version of the movie. And I assume that during this period, the two had discussions when there where major changes needed. The music is by John Williams, he and only him. After that, it's usual business. Cut his cut that, loop this, a transition here, returning back to the main theme... bla bla bla. When the music is written, and you only have to adapt it to each scenes... I'm not saying that all the work is done because the music is already written, but I'm saying that it's easier for an arranger to work with existing material, even better when he knows the composer very well and has a great relation with him, than to start from scratch. Anyway, don't look for this album in my JW's discography as a conductor/performer... he doesn't conduct! It's as much a John Williams album than a William Ross one. COS belongs to the very short list of scores written by JW, but conducted by others. And we are lucky, there are very very few! Soundtracks conducted by others: http://www.goplanete.com/johnwilliams/music/composer/others.htm
  15. Well, that's not the same thing, it was release in 2-LP format... like Star Wars, Superman and Empire before. After Far and Away and Home Alone 2 that seems to have been released on CD only, Jurassic Park was indeed released on a special picture LP, and it's program fitted on a single LP... But but but... the movie was an event... so it's "marketing", according to me ;-) But we see that even in 1993, there was a certain nostalgia for LPs... After that, for Schindler's List... no LP...
  16. Sure, LPs are coming back, but what I waited to know is for which first score Did JW created a CD program instead of an LP program for his album. Of course, some think, like Mike Matessino, and I share is thinking, that Williams never really stopped to arrange his scores on album, like if He still recording an LP. ;-)
  17. Stefancos is correct. I remember seeing him say the exact same thing that Miguel said few hours before.
  18. Stephen King should really write a short story about that!
