  1. Both in serious need of remastering and in the case of the later, expansion. Yes and supposedly the masters for Jaws are in great condition. The music on the Blu-ray sounded excellent. What about Close Encounters? Not sure if that could benefit from a remaster or expansion... or if it's even in La-La Land's territory.
  2. Thank you for sharing the those clips. I've never seen those before!
  3. Where can one find those ET recording sessions? Were they in the extras on the Bluray?
  4. Great piece! I hardly recognized Williams without his glasses in the archive footage.
  5. Where'd you hear these pieces? I'm assuming the Romeo and Juliet music is from the 1968 version.
  6. What film music has everyone heard at the Olympics so far? I'm assuming most, if not all, film music would be heard during the figure skating events. In 2010, I know they played a piece from "Dragonheart" during the end credits. So far, this is the film music I've heard so far during the figure skating events: -Pink Panther -Skyfall -The Addams Family -Les Miserables (I'm not sure if this was from the latest film soundtrack or another source)
  7. I read somewhere (possibly at FSM) that when Williams was talking about the new Star Wars film at a concert, he said maybe he'll have some music to preview in 2014. I can't find the link, so I may have misread what he actually said. It's obviously too early for any music, but I'm wondering if has he read the basic storyline of the film and has some ideas already?
  8. Definitely Menken is my fav, but I but do like them all.
  9. I wonder how many thousands of copies were downloaded for "free"?
  10. Finale from Home Alone. One of my favs.
  11. I'm sure the main title will be the same including the end credit opening. It's been the same for all six films, so I don't think they will change it for the ST. I think the place for something new and different are are the standalone films and I doubt Williams will be directly involved with those.
  12. True, but the new Star Wars films aren't reboots, they are sequels. Rumor has it that the original three are not only returning to the new trilogy, but will have significant roles instead of just passing the torch... nothing confirmed, of course. If true, that says about pleasing the fans. Also, John Williams is on board, it will be shot on 35mm, and they specifically mention using real sets and models. I think they are going to try to make this as "Star Wars" possible to please the fans. I just hope they don't go overboard with giving the fans everything they want...
  13. Been waiting 17 years for a proper release of the OT scores. Although, Star Wars is nearly perfect IMO, but Empire and Jedi... I guess 5 years isn't that bad. At least we'll will have some new Star Wars scores to tide us over until then.
  14. That's a long time to wait if Sony doesn't release anything before then.
  15. The Hunt is a great piece. Very badass, too!
  16. I don't think it's a good idea to change the main title. I imagine it would upset a lot of people no matter how good it is. Although, I would love to hear a reboot from Williams as an alternate. Weren't a lot people upset that The Phantom Menace didn't feature the main theme enough throughout the score? I think that says a lot right there...
  17. "The Adventures of Tintin" is the one I enjoy the most. It makes me excited to hear what Williams has in store for Episode VII. He's still got it in him.
  18. As already mentioned, The Tide Turns from TPM, specifically :18 - 1:35. One of many heroic cues from the Star Wars saga.
  19. Glad to read that all is well. I wonder if this means a new release will happen in the future? 2015 maybe?
