  1. I haven't time to read through 9 pages(!) but since people are still debating if it's Williams or not, I'm guessing no one has seen that it has been "confirmed" to be from the score. Apparently Variety confirmed it, but they mention no sources in their piece.
  2. I might actually be content if they killed off Rick and made Carol the main character. I haven't been into Rick much since his farming days at the prison 3(?) seasons ago. His character development is all over the place, which is definitely realistic but - for me - makes it harder to identify with him.
  3. I mean aren't they just robots? Why should R2D2 be Male or Female, it's just a droid created to do tasks? They don't reproduce? They're actually gay. TFA will end with the marriage of R2 and 3PO, accompanied by a sweeping rendition of the droids' motif from Empire Strikes Back.
  4. The only problem I have with that scene is that they made it too obvious that the major character in question isn't the one getting his guts ripped out.
  5. I'm actually a bit surprised that there's no fanfare ending what that musical buildup. It's almost jarring how subdued it suddenly gets.
  6. I like the march-y rendition of the Force Theme. But was it John Williams?!
  7. But... But... But Jurassic World has already been declared the biggest movie of the year!
  8. This is the first time I'm watching football. Apparently 9 football minutes is actually like 20 minutes in real time? How do people watch this?!
  9. The problem with the trailer commercial you all are talking about is the slow motion at the end. I hope it's just for the purpose of that particular spot, and not how the actual scene plays out in the film. Slow motion is just so.... eh... It's used for dramatic effect, but do you really need to use it if the story is good enough? It's almost as if filmmakers think the audience is too stupid to catch on to something so they have to slow the film down. Again, I hope it's just an effect for that particular spot.
  10. But is it really necessary to cheer and clap when the opening crawl blasts onto the screen? We don't know what awaits us afterward, it could suck! I remember a documentary included with Phantom Menace that showed clips from a premiere screening of that film. All the attendees were hooting and hollering and waving lightsabers when the film started. Little did they know what disappointment awaited! Save your praise for when the movie ends!
  11. Or they could, you know, just use something else. By the sounds of things, they'll have artwork galore to choose from.
  12. The hype train is chugging along at full speed now! Actually, I'm interested in the marathon leading up to The Force Awakens. I can only remember seeing Revenge of the Sith in theaters, so it'd be cool to experience them all in that format. It'd be a long day though - about 16 hours? LucasFilm and Disney present: Edit-A-Trailer! Featuring select scenes from J.J. Abrams' upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, this new high-tech app allows you to edit your own trailer for the movie! 13. John Williams ditched the unversatile LA musicians after deciding a computer could do better.
  14. I can't tell if the truncation of the theme is supposed to be that way or is the result of an edit. The high note seems unnaturally short.
  15. A different commercial for the trailer here: https://twitter.com/UniversalCore11/status/655797811825389568
  16. I hope this version of the Death Star actually survives the film, and even the next one. It would make the First Order a more formidable foe than the Empire. So now we're getting commercials for commercials. Awesome!
  17. But this one is bigger and more powerful - the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of this ultimate weapon! Plus it definitely doesn't have any weaknesses the Resistance can exploit.
  18. Well here's the poster Two observations - still no Luke, and a Death Star-like thing (eh... how original...).
  19. That's what it sounds like. Thank goodness too - I'm tired of seeing all the badly photoshopped fan posters shared across the internet as if they were real.
  20. The following update was added to the makingstarwars.net announcement about Monday's trailer release quoted a few posts back (bold added for emphasis):
