Well hopefully someone will find it or they just rerecord, nothing can replace the original but if it's gone....

Varese form what I hear attended the sessions and recorded their own masters for the first release for Dracula this would be the 10 they did for the Vinyl. I learned this form research for Small Soldiers when I was tracking recordings and one man who attended was telling me how they get their own masters that are mixed at the sessions and take them to be stored for future releases so if there is a reissue they won't have to go to studios for reissues to et masters they just get permission and go. To an extent they have sheets to I learned that from a patton project I was on. From what I have heard also is that they do not tend to store things well and sorting is bad. All old digital files were deleted and then archived what they were so they know what was there at one point.

So the few reels varsee has in stereo may be all that's left. It could be possible they recorded all but 9 out of 10 times they only get reels from what they release

I would too. I have Jeff's email from Varsee. I should ask him if there is any plans to tomorrow.

A long time ago I found alternates claiming to be from ET, one being Far from home but the last half when ET is being chased it is entitled abandoned and pursued (ALTERNATE) another is the track toys as well as ET's halloween, searching for ET saying goodbye (part of escape-chase-saying goodbye) another alternate but it is the full 15 minute version. I hadn't heard any of the before. I would love to discover stuff about them. So anyone with info please let me know.

I was recently looking at my signature collection I have a small one Joe Dante, Bruce Broughton, some people from Stan Winston, as well as John Carpenter and I would love to stick Mr. Williams up there on my wall it would feel nice and right even if I have to send it to send the item I want signed off it would of course be my original pressing of Close Encounters to get signed. But is there a way?
