  1. Yeah it was done purely for the 3D effect, same with Bellatrix Lestrange's death.
  2. Not sure why Dumbledore would have had so much influence/power back then anyway, apart from having been the most talented wizard to have attended Hogwarts. He wasn't even headmaster at the time. But it would make sense that he would send Newt, I guess.
  3. Can you still make polyjuice potion with the hair of a dead person? I imagine the real Graves is locked away somewhere.
  4. You'd think all these important magical buildings would have some sort of way to detect polyjuice potion
  5. A thunder sheet! That's what it's called. Looked like an old car bonnet to me. He said that he "hoped to see them again soon". So make of that what you will
  6. He told the same old Schindler's List story ("They're all dead!"). He didn't think there were going to be war Star Wars film etc etc. Spielberg cut the last scene from ET to JW's music. He wrote and recorded the trailer music for HP in LA and sent it to WB and they said it should be the main theme. He also said something (on Indiana Jones 5) along the lines "I hear Steven is planning a fifth one so I may have to start lifting weights" - That's not a direct quote but Indy 5 seems to be one of those "If I can I will" scores. The performance itself was so crisp and clear (especially the brass). I'd forgotten how good the acoustics are in the Barbican. Scherzo for X-Wings was particularly impressive (they took at at the tempo that JW seems to be conducting at his concerts). They played "Dartmoor, 1912" but it was more like a War Horse concert suite. They also played a concert suite of the Shark theme from Jaws which I hadn't heard properly before.
  7. They could have made two films for each storyline in the film. The two plots only overlapped out of convenience rather than necessity. Also, the film felt really, really long.
  8. What I loved was how the music flowed through the film. It didn't seem to have been cut/edited to the picture
  9. Well the film was spectacularly average. Far too long and some of Rowling's dialogue was awful. The score and the visual effects were great though. It was quite a spectacle in 3D
  10. He didn't technically "write" The Incredits either did he? It was an arrangement
  11. I've said before that Zimmer's highlights are far superior to Giacchino's, but Giacchino is far more consistent with his output.

    .

Giacchino for the pun track titles: Making America Grate Again! Playing the Trump Card Hair Force One There's gonna be hell toupée Don Voyage!
  13. Saw the film last night. The score fits it really well.
  14. Half of the Cursed Child was more like fan fiction anyway
  15. Thank god that didn't happen. It would have been okay to have the scene at the wedding though.
  16. Well I really enjoyed this. Makes me kinda sad that JNH didn't get a crack at the main series.
  17. I was never expecting Williams to score this film anyway. It would have been a pleasant surprised. I'm glad they went for someone like JNH and not another Hooper.
  18. "Except for John" - Does this mean there was a brief moment where they tried to get him to score it?
