  1. I had. Didn't realize it hadn't been shared before, I got it back in June of 2021. It's very interesting! Cool to see some of the earliest origins of the show. I really want to read the Upside Down explanation document they gave Netflix when the show is over. Lol.
  2. Hey! I missed out on the original boxset back when it came out. Now I can own a nice expansion of Jurassic Park at a nice price. Is there any reason to still pursue the other boxset (besides The Lost World, obviously). Is there anything on the old release of Jurassic Park that is not on this one?
  3. Whatever they feel they need to tell the story right. I really don't care about the length. If it needs to be long, as Season 4 did, let it be long. It you don't need the length then that's fine too. Long doesn't always necessarily feel long.
  4. Been working hard on this and I'm sure some of it is incorrect and I'm sure I'm missing things, but this is as much info as I could gather on every available piece of music that appears in the show - complete with scene descriptions. Enjoy - Major Spoilers, obviously. Stranger Things 4 Chronological Score & Soundtrack S = Score (Ex. "S4-D1T11" means Season 4 Score, Disc 1, Track 11) OST = Original Soundtrack (Ex. "OST4-T2" Season 4 Soundtrack, Track 2) *Not quite what appears in the show, but close. Chapter 1: Chapter 2: Chapter 3: Chapter 4: Chapter 5: Chapter 6: Chapter 7: Chapter 8: Chapter 9: NOTES: Unfortunately, even after all this work. These score cues are unaccounted for in the show: S4-D1T31 A Nightmare Far Worse S4-D2T06 Surf that Tasty Pie S4-D2T07 Follow me into Death S4-D2T15 Praying something will happen to me S4-D2T24 You Should Go East It might be because they ended up unused, with those scene being scored with other Dixon & Stein cues ("You Should Go East" is scored with "Burning Baby" in the show) or with Makeup and Vanity Set tracks (like "Praying something will happen to me") However, a large portion of the Score titles are not really accurate to the scenes they appear in. We'll know more once they're added to ASCAP. Dixon & Stein usually include the original titles with the entries. Also, several cue titles from the Season 4 score with an asterisk are the same cue, but the version is the show is a different mix, has layers removed, etc. If anyone is interested, here's the Makeup and Vanity Set appearances isolated: Hope this helps some people! Maybe now that I'm off the score kick, I can comment on the show itself. LOL. EDIT: Updated 10/29/2022. ID'd where "Soteria" occurs. Added other reoccurring tracks and Rob Simonsen cues. EDIT #2: Updated 8/6/2023. More cue reoccurrences added.
  5. Here we are @JNHFan2000 @CrimsonRain96 Stranger Things 4 - Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein Score Album Only (based on first appearance) Score Album + Soundtrack (based on first appearance) UPDATE. Link to the Comprehensive List with all music I could track down, and scene descriptions over in the Stranger Things spoiler thread:
  6. Yeaaaah. I specifically asked Michael Stein about that cue. He said the issue is it's just so short. They may work on extending it in the future or something. I didn't realize that I hadn't shared that here. Came across that the other day - that's the official track too. Not a rip. Just only on that artists YouTube right now. Another reason I suspect some kind of "Remix" album is in the works.
  7. Update on Stranger Things 4, doing one final pass. I will just say that several of the track titles are not at all accurate, so I'm having to dig through and place a few more by ear that I didn't get the first time around. I plan on having three lists: Score album in order. Score + Soundtrack in order. All released music I can track down in order.
  8. I have 2 very well mapped out. 3 is iffy. Haven’t gone back and done 1 though, but I’ve seen other lists. I could build off those. Should be posting 4 shortly.
  9. I had mentioned my first broadcast TV score a few weeks ago and I realized I never came back to share any more. The first three episodes are out so I can share a few of the cues used in them. Here's a playlist of about 14 cues! Please note these are just pulled from the sessions and are not finished album masters (as there will be no album) Hope you all enjoy it! It's True Crime, so not exactly lush, orchestral work like most are doing in here, but it's music I composed. So...here it is! Lol. I did try to incorporate a few thematic ideas. I believe in this playlist you can sample, of course, the main theme, but also a motif or riff (whatever you want to call it) for the mystery, a family theme, and an idea for the tragic moments. EDIT: Updated with cues from Episodes 4 & 5
  10. No. None of the Orchestral cues from the show are on the Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein album as they were not done by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein, but were arranged by Rob Simonsen. I would imagine, were they to be released, that it will be a separate short album or they will be bonus tracks on a CD release or Deluxe Version of the Soundtrack. If you want them, I'd suggest bugging Netflix about it.
  11. @CrimsonRain96 I am working on it. Getting very close to done. I'm sure someone else may beat me to it, but we'll see. Yes everyone is after the orchestral score cues arranged by Rob Simonsen. All of them were done by him. I gather they will be released separately somehow at a later time.
  12. Nope. One more. Season 5 was confirmed awhile back actually. So there’s still more to come!
  13. Score / Soundtrack Update everyone. For the immense amount of people wondering about the orchestral work done on Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" - it was Rob Simonson! Source: https://www.instagram.com/p/CejuXu2vcFd/
  14. No, as it was not done by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein. Likely was done by the orchestrator credited on Episode 4, as well as 8 & 9. Edit: Turns out it was Rob Simonsen who did this! Full tracklist via Film Music Reporter Added to my main score post. Looks like “Sweetie Pie” was renamed to “Teens”
  15. Official Score Release info - out digitally July 1st (tomorrow!): Preview track from Volume 1 (appears to be an unused cue): Preview track from Volume 2 (SPOILERS!): The Volume each is from is mentioned in Lakeshores Youtube Titles. Full Article: https://consequence.net/2022/06/stranger-things-4-score-release-date/ So glad it's massive. Fun fact - I actually got to talk with Michael Stein via DM on Instagram for a bit a few weeks ago and gave some of my more unconventional track selections from Volume 1, among other little topics of discussion - here's hoping some of my picks end up on the release with 80 TRACKS in play! UPDATE: Full tracklist via Film Music Reporter
  16. Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein did a Screening Interview for the SCL. They played two cues from Season 4 which gives us our first two official cue titles. Spoilers if you have not seen all 7 episodes of Volume 1:
  17. I really hope Netflix posts some score from Stranger Things, we've never had any supplemental material from that show.
  18. Jay would've preferred a worse drawing and this line from Max.
  19. Could find something useful. I had a Goodwill keyboard that well for me for quite a few years - the only thing that got me to switch was space and that the Goodwill one had no MOD/Pitch wheels
  20. Hard disagree. Honestly so tired of this idea these days that we have to move move move. I appreciate the show letting moments breath and letting the characters linger a little more.
  21. @JayGlad you enjoyed 404! It's an absolutely phenomenal episode. Agree with pretty much everything you said. It's also so interesting to read your thoughts having finished Volume 1 already. lol.
  22. I went with 61 for space reasons only (needed it to slide away under my desk), I'd prefer a full 88, but I manage fine with the 61 - I use it all the time without any real issues. The 25 key though was meant to be on the road... and I ended up never needing it, which I why I'm happy to part with it if you may find something very portable useful in your quest.
  23. If you can get the 88 key from @SilverTrumpet that would be good. I have a pretty new one, lots of bells and whistles, but it's a small portable 25-key one. Still, I could part with it if you'd want a portable option to learn on the go as well - I've since replaced it with my current 61 key version I write on.
  24. Alright everyone! Here's the Main Title cue for the series I mentioned. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QcVPHnCg9xas9LqHsai6l1JNjgicWQPR/view?usp=sharing Hope you enjoy! It's very clearly not live unfortunately. Didn't have budget for that.
