That depends on the point of view. The first films I watched between the two franchises was "The Phantom Menace" back in the 2000s. The trauma was great and I stayed away from SW for many years. I also never watched an MI movie, but the theme played on RADIO. So I venture to say that perhaps the THEME of MI is more popular than the theme of SW. SW is also outclassed by the theme of 007. But the three are extremely popular.

Lolita Ritmanis wrote a "fanfare" for the Justice League as well. And made some animated Batman's movies. I like the theme created by her.

The story goes on how long before ANH? Maul was killed by Obi Wan (again) in Rebels cartoon when Luke was just a child, literally.

Infinity War - Alan Silvestri: Too much drama, especially at the beginning.
Ready Player One - Alan Silvestri: Many exotic moments.
Orca - Ennio Morricone: Melancholic and elegant. One classic. I love the theme for the Orca, a gesture of Morricone's sensitivity to that murderess.

At least Silvestri used fewer variations of the Avengers' theme than Christophe Beck in Antman. As I listened to the score I could not help but think that Beck really got excited about the theme he created.

The complaints were more about the sound of the synthesizers being very dated. Very 80's.

Before the performance there is the draft, the composition, the official orchestration and I really do not know anything, but it is a job that on average must occupy the hands of about 500 people. It's a lot of work!

Both are more John Powell. I believe all of those DreamWorks duo works involving him are. He even said in an interview that he never understood why he had never done a solo job for the studio until "How to Train Your Dragon". It took thirteen years for that.
Anyone else think Alexandre Desplat is the best composer currently working?

I would say Morricone. He's almost 90 years old. But it seems he has held back the pace of his career
