I'm pretty sure he's not all that upset, I'm sorry to disagree. Can I give you a personal example? For my exhebition that just opened yesterday, two of my drawings had to be withdrawn due to space limitations. There were considerations which drawings should remain, not because I liked them best, but that would provide a better overall experience. Did I felt any kind of anoyance? Did I felt rejected in any way. No, of course not. It would have been great if I could get there all this stuff, that made me put so much work into it, but that wasn't possible and I'm glad that the final result is as pleasant as it is. That's how things work, and one only have to be mature with this things. But this is something that the entire world will hear, and if he thinks it demotes him in the minds of us soundtrack nerds...

Jeez, give me time to type my response! Yes. I'm sure he acts perfectly fine on the outside, but if you put so much work and time into a creative masterpiece, well, DUH you're going to be upset if it isn't used! It's just a part of life, no human can hold against that feeling. I'm sure having dealt with it more than other composers, he's not AS upset as they are, but still, he's bound to be angry if he thinks the piece was a really good one.

I like it more than E.T., but barley. And I love Battle of the Heroes. It can't be compared w/ LOTR because they're very different types of movies and scores. I hate Recollections from Catch Me If You Can. I also hate Theme from the Eiger Sanction. Both incredibly dull and boring, and first one is rather depressing (which isn't bad if the music is so good, it's worth being depressed e.g. Anakin's Betrayal)
