  1. But it's not supposed to be anything more. BTTF2 is a direct sequel, that's all it was meant to be. I dig it because it goes back to the first movie, and I love the way it reruns the events from a different perspective. I think the trilogy is like Indy, the first two are genuine classics, the third is not a masterpiece but is still a great time at the movies.
  2. Out of the selection given, Indy. Of anything, the OT would have to take it. Even if it was just ANH and ESB, it'd still take it by a long way.
  3. That's ridiculous. Baker's effects are still held up now by a lot of people as the finest example of lycanthropy on film, especially the transformation. Bottin's work is still worth mentioning, but his transformation looks absolutely terrible today, which I find strange as his amazing work in THE THING the following year still holds up perfecly.
  4. I love elements of both, but for quality over quantity, nothing in Trek comes close to matching the heights of Star Wars. Then again, I also think FIRST CONTACT can only be considered good if an hour or so is cut from the running time.
  5. I think REVENGE is like JEDI, one half of a great film, one half of a average film that overall works out as pretty good. It has some awful elements, but still nothing as bad as MENACE or that dastardly CLONES, surely one of the worst flicks I've ever seen. McGregor is very good, Christensen brings out some good even with no direction whatsoever, and the fun McDiarmid is having shines through the screen. I think that after the crash on Coruscant, it really drags itself up until Grievous dies and Order 66 is given, and then Lucas finally gives us some of the emotional weight he's been promising, although some of it is undermined by Burtt's terrible editing. However, like the previous two prequels, the film has the annoying habit of destroying a perfectly good scene with one terrible element (the best example "She's lost the will to live.") I like it a lot though and I can watch it regularly, something I can't say of the rest of the PT.
  6. I wish I still had the time to listen to entire scores. I agree that 80-90% of JEDI is great, but ESB is just on such a level-up from both ROTJ and ANH. It's just breathtaking, and that's become a cliche, but the pure quality of the score really gives it a meaning again. "Hyperspace" always sums it up for me, the way that track is written that away from the film I can still find myself biting my nails while listening to it due to the tension. I find that so rare.
  7. I picked "Fast Streets of Shanghai". I love how illustratively funny that cue is.
  8. I'll just go ahead and proclaim my love for JEDI... The last film I watched was BEOWULF. Now that was awful.
  9. I wonder if indianajones.com will post any previews of the album, like when sw.com did with the ROTS score in '05?
