  1. If Lucas touches TPM, he has raped my childhood.
  2. I reckon the best picture quality of the prequel trilogy DVDs is TPM. I realize it's riddled with typical MPEG anomalies, but it has a more real and warm film-like quality. The oil-painting look of AOTC and ROTS tends to take me out of it as even the real human actors look like CGI, as if everyone has been airbrushed to death. Yes, they're nice and clear, but it just seems too good.
  3. "Battle of Naboo" would be good if it wasn't hacked up.
  4. He's got street cred. Doncha no, yo?
  5. Australian kids who go trick-or-treating forget which country they live in. We had only one set of kids come to the door all dressed up. We didn't have anything for them because I forgot it was Halloween. Luckily they forgot their eggs. Tacky holiday anyway.
  6. I don't mind Joe at the best of times. We both share a snooze during 2001: A Space Odyssey, both adore the "Love Theme" from Superman, and uhh... some other stuff I can't remember. But his intolerance toward anything new and interesting from Williams in anything besides Potter is quite puzzling, so it's clear he never quite got on board the new X-TREME JOHNNY wagon. A few years ago, I've realized it's not just Williams' themes and melodies that I love, but it's his style and depth of orchestration that I adore just as much. From hearing scores like Jurassic Park III and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, I just know how important that unique Williams "sound" adds to the enjoyment of a score. However, Joe seems to make it sound like Williams is just throwing random notes onto the paper, when I couldn't imagine the maestro not thinking this is going to be a difficult task. His recent output is proof that he's attempting to be bold, creative and fresh with each new score.
  7. Is Munich an action film? Or just drama? I know of the subject matter involved, but I have no idea what approach Spielberg is going for. And by the way, nightscape94, love the avatar.
  8. Yeah, but Hitch is the funniest guy on the board.
  9. It's a K-Mart/Target exclusive. No need to pre-order it, they'll just have it on display. You can also peel the rating sticker off, thank goodness.
  10. Hey, wait a minute, I voted for KM but I don't even know what his policies are! I got jipped!
  11. I'm getting it from K-Mart, since they're offering a limited edition slipcase cover.
  12. Ones I enjoy the most... AI - Artificial Intelligence Minority Report Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Revenge of the Sith War of the Worlds
  13. Really? I usually don't give a bleedin' toss what a selection of people think about a score. If I like it, it's good, If I don't like it it sucks. That's the way the Democratic system works, and it works well. If they don't like it, I will impose my opinions onto them. Either they're with me or they're against me!
  14. It's quite a bold move around here to state that you like John Williams' music.
  15. I'm really loving "Sayuri's Theme". I hope fans of Williams and film scores abroad appreciate this score as much as I do. Some very powerful and moving material here.
  16. I see you're Star Trek's biggest fan.
  17. I reckon I do, since she's stated she's never gone back to re-read her novels. As for "biggest" fan, more like "bitterest" fan. "Anything else going on around here that's against the rules?"
  18. I know something smells wrong when I start caring for Malfoy and Snape more than Harry and his brat pack of ungrateful little snots. A lot of people seemed to like HAP because it abandonded the caps-lock Harry of OOTP, which was much more interesting, but I found this devil-may-care Harry to be written in the most pedantic, uninspired, amateurish and insipid way possible. Hermione was even worse with her 365-day PMS cycle, and don't give me that "they're teenagers" arguement because these characters showed more class and sophistication in their first year. And super!Ginny was the most shallow character conceivable as Rowling didn't allow me to care for her relationship with Harry (the monster in Harry's pants was supposed to be funny, right?), she was just plunked there out of nowhere as if Rowling forgot about her. I, and many other readers were more invested in Harry's friendship, and forshadowed relationship with Hermione, but I must be "delusional", as Rowling would say, even though there is solid evidence for that pair in the previous five books. Had this book been written first, it never would have been published.
  19. Wrong. It's just there's a select few of us who are intelligent enough to see Rowling for the literary hack she really is and aren't blind to the horrid and inconsistant writing of HAP just because it's part of a best-selling franchise. Quite a shame people took the bait on this one.
  20. do it, by all means, however there is nothing to back it up, there is however ample evidence to back up my claims. Six words. Sexed-up boarding school romantic comedy.
