Favorite Tim Morrison collaboration
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal replied to Figo's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
The CIA killed him. Not in Dallas, offcourse, that was just a decoy, the real Kennedy was killed 4 months before that. Stefancos- who knows this for a fact. -
Jaws, on a scale of 1 to 10.

Roald is right, we definatly need Figo, he's smart, knows his subjects and isn't afraid to to let someone know he disagrees with him. He's this MB's antidote to our friendly and benovolent and horrible PC Harry Potter (no offense Harry, but you are just so....nice). And Roald, i had the exact same exepience the fist time i saw AOTC, the crowd went absolutely wild from the moment Yoda came walking in, looking like a badsass SOB who was gonna kick ass. (must have been the first time Samual L. Jackson was NOT the collest guy in a film) About dutchies being rather passive in the cinema, i agree, but i noticed that during AOTC, a very large amount of the audience were not from the Netherlands, there were people from Scandinavia, several Eastern european countries, and a hell of a lot of Germans. I think they really wanted to see this film in it's original language Stefancos- who watched the Yoda/Dooku duel over and over again. -

You have, my young apprentice. Wipe them out, all of them!!! Stefancos- who will never be replaced by hat do-gooder Potter. -
John Williams wins saturn award
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal replied to Romão's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
It's an award ceremony speciagically created for the Sci Fi and Fantasy genre. Stefancos- who wonders if Williams attended the ceremony or that they will mail his price to him. -
He also intentionally ripped of Jerry Goldsmith's style for his score of Missing In Action, which is a guilty pleasure of mine (the score, not bthe film) NeejaHalycon, if you are interrested in music from The Inner Light you might wanna check out: STAR TREK: 30th ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL a CD that contains a wonderfull 6 minute suite Chattaway composed, based on that flute motif Picard plays in the episode. Star Trek: The Next Generation Vol. IV This CD has a short, but very nice rendition of that same theme played by flute and piano. Stefancos- who loves The Inner Light.

While the designs of the prequal trilogy are impressive they fail to capture that unique look that the first 3 films had. For instance the Stardestroyers look like nothing i've ever seen before, totally original, i really have not found anything like that in the new films. Also, TPM contains one of the most blatant production design rippoffs i've ever seen in such a big budget production. J-Type 327 Nubian SR-71 Blackbird by Lockheed Stefancos- who would have sued Lucasfilm, if he were the director of Lockheed.

Ricard is right, this guy is a thief. And I just told him that. Stefancos- who hates the thiefs on eBay.

Need advice and a little help :)
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal replied to Luke Skywalker's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Both Jaws CD's are very worthwile. The old MCA CD has longer "album version's" (NOT concert versions, Walter) of Out To Sea,, Promenade, Building The Cage. And many of the other tracks have diofferent arrangements then the original film tracks. In the Netherlands, the old Jaws CD can still be found fairly easily, even though it's long OOP. Stefancos- who sees the old Jaws CD more in stores then the new one. -
David Prowse, to return as Darth Vader in Ep. III
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal replied to JoeinAR's topic in General Discussion
No Morn, i'm sure that the ORIGINAL 1977 version of the film, without the title A NEW HOPE used the line: YOU ARE PART OF THE REBEL ALLIANCE, AND A SPY! Stefancos- who doesn't give a damn if Prowse returns, as long as James earl Jones does the voice again. -
Joe, is Chriscton himself producing Timeline? If so, then there is a bigger chance of Jerry Goldsmith scoring it, since Chrichton and him are friends, and he's very often used him in the films he directed and produced. Also, Donner used Jerry for The Omen, which won an Oscar for it's score, so he knows Jerry is good. Stefancos- who notices Donner often re-uses actors in his films, but rarely composers.

I love McCarthy's music for the Star Trek franchise, and i'm sure i'll love his work for enterprise. Stefancos- who's been listening to McCarthy's score to Emisarry, the DS9 pilot al week now.

Spielberg-Williams collaborations
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal replied to Luke Skywalker's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
You should also include the score from The Mission, an episode of Amazing Stories, directed by Spielberg, scored by Johnny. They also did the Amazing Stories pilot Ghost Train, but that score has never been released, officially or unofficially. Stefancos- who noticed the Ghost Train theme was a bit to similar to Barry's You Only Live Twice theme. -

Figo, I take it all back. We may not always see eye to eye, but you have a hell of a way of phrasing your disagreements. YOU F*CKING RULE, MAN!!! Stefancos- wondering if Figo will disagree with me again. -
CGI, the good, the bad, what do you think.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal replied to JoeinAR's topic in General Discussion
Joe, i love the film, but i admit there are a few flaws, most notably in the way Merry and Pippin are handled, although i'm sure they will be better used in the next 2 films. The massing of armies looked great, much better then that cartoon looking massing of armies in TPM, and i cannot see anything wrong with the bridge scene. Also, there are a lot of scenes in FOTR that contain CGI, but are so well done that you can barely notice it. I think FOTR even beats AOTC in some ways. AOTC had great effects overall, but several of the CGI characters looked awfull, like that Dex guy, and even Jar Jar. Stefancos- who thinks that scene with Dexter must be the most inappropriate scene for an SW film ever shot. -

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal replied to JoeinAR's topic in General Discussion
The exorcist is very good, but The Omen kicks it's ass i think, it's even better. Oh yes, and the shark looks fine like it is, i hope no one tampers with that film. Stefancos- who thought CGI E.T. looked like something from Tom and Jerry. -
My fav theme of the Star trek TV series is the DS9 theme as performed in seasons 1 - 3. Voyager is almost as good, atleast it's better then the actual series. I offcourse like the TNG theme, but prefer the movie performances. haven't heard McCarthy's theme for Enterprise yet. Stefancos- who did hear the first 10 or 20 seconds of that horrible Enterprise song, but then had to run to the bathroom to upchuck his lunch.

What effects in FOTR looked fake to you? Stefancos- who thought that film had amazing FX's :?: -
Shadows of the Empire - Incomplete CD?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal replied to hirogen_alpha's topic in General Discussion
i'm sure i must have seen that first film when i was a kid, but i have no memory of it. as for the second film, never seen it, never heard it. Stefancos- who prefers Looney Tunes over Walt Disney cartoons. -
Are you talking about Jezus Christ Superstar? Stefancos- who has seen only bits and pieces of THAT film.

Time for Ricard to dig up his old Raiders list. Stefancos- wondering if Ricard have a similar list of TOD.

Jaws, on a scale of 1 to 10.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal replied to JoeinAR's topic in General Discussion
Jaws was a tense, exilerating, exiting and fun film the first time i saw it, and years later, it still is. A definate 10, a pure masterpiece. Stefancos- who first saw Jaws when he was about 4 or 5 years old.
