Which film composers have you seen in real life?
Jay replied to Omen II's topic in General Discussion
Hey me too! Are you talking about New York City, October 2010? Indeed! Hey that's awesome! Is there an album of pictures from that dinner somewhere? I sat with John Takis and Jim Ware! -
The real question now is if Giacchino will score

Howard Shore's The Battle of the Five Armies (Hobbit Part 3)
Jay replied to Jay's topic in Tolkien Central
Absolutely 100% the Warg's theme in the DOS main titles. No idea why you'd think otherwise. Even if all of our ears didn't agree, Doug confirmed it. So does the bit in Fire and Water and Beyond Sorrow and Grief! Timestamp? I don't hear Warg Theme in that track at all.... Which one?- 7,435 replies

Could you please start either typing slower, or fixing your post after submitting your hastily typed ones? I mean, it's getting really bad Stefan.

They probably wouldn't be to younger ones like us... I think those who like them first saw them in the theaters when they were new movies

Smaug swimming under the gold was really cool. Anytime the gold moved was terrible looking. Like everything else in the film, it kept vascillating from cool stuff to silly stuff.... Yea, like others I was very perplexed that Legolas got so much fighting time in BOFA and Tauriel barely got any. Especially since they highlighted in the pickup stuff that she was doing all this fighting, she mentioned it in interviews, etc. Plus we have already seen Legolas do crazy fighting in 4 other ME movies, you'd think they'd give their cool new character they obvious spent a lot of time on more to do! And I doubt she'll have that many more scenes in the EE, if any at all. I can't imagine they cut out much stuff that would have her in it. S'weird.- 1,347 replies

I have to imagine the EE will have more Beorn. I just can't believe that from the script level, they only ever planned for him to host the company one night, then show up for one shot in the final battle later. Also, I can't imagine Shore would have written that long lined theme with Nature's Reclamation-ish ending if he wasn't told there'd be a chance to use it. Taurel's relationship with Legolas was platonic, at least as far as she was concerned. I guess it's likely that Legolas liked her, but the way Bloom played it you'd never really know.- 1,347 replies

That's not a concert arrangement; its just a section of the end credits, separated out into its own track. So it's not missing.

I listen to a great podcast about films, The Film Vault, and one of the hosts is a huge PTA fan, and he put Inherent Vice as his #1 most anticipated film of 2014. Well he just saw it and unfortunately said it was one of his least enjoyable times at the cinema all year. Sounds like PTA really made an inside film here and not a crowd pleaser, and many won't dig on it.
