  1. This is exactly what I meant to say. I dont have anything against PS if it is used in an artistic way. But these days, with a computer anyone can make 'art'. And the difference with bad physical art so to speak is that the latter wont easily be used in million dollar marketing campaigns.
  2. I'm sorry...I often have trouble to find subjects in 'search'...and have no time to keep track of all threads. Indeed, one can make real art in Photoshop, and it has possibilities that extend beyond classic techniques...but you know what I mean.
  3. Amphibious? I don't know, I would find it a bit strange to call a reptile 'amphibious'.
  4. How do you guys like the Iron Man 3 poster? Although I am not particularly fond of his graphic art, I actually very much like the concept art look of this poster by Mark 'Jock' Simpson. Also I appreciate the fact that it is a movie poster which is actually illustrated and no Photoshop for a change.
  5. It's not even so much the melody as the harmonies. Today's scores need some more chromaticism. Any bland melody can be turned into something interesting with witty progressions.
  6. Yes, I thought of the crocodile too, to my taste this animal is aquatic, but of course he sepnds half thetime on land as well. So depends a bit on your definition. I think if you would spend half of your life in the water, I'd call you aquatic In the case of JP, there could be a lot of scenes with the T-rex in water. Then, in JPIII they already adapted some of the scenes for the Spinosaur. As to the new dino to be featured, it's still guessing. I hope it'd be something in between the size of a rex and a velociraptor; say Deinonychus, or an Afrovenator. Actually I do not care much as long as there are dinosaurs, and a good effects team. The difference in CGI quality between JP1-2 and JP3 was too obvious.
  7. Even Schoenberg's works wouldn't exist if it weren't for Richard Strauss' influence. Still, even if imitating or adopting a sound one cannot avoid giving his own voice to the work, if he wants it or not. In your music it is absolutely there. So, no need for any defenses Looking forward to hearing your symphony!
  8. Did you sell it to Fox? How does it pay off for you?
  9. Mike, congrats on your great 'sound', adapting JWs sound is an an art in itself...how many are there that truly can sound like him? I wondered, I I may ask, how much you payed for the session + Shawn Murphy at the mixer??
  10. Maurizio, could you specify to which track of KK you refer?
  11. It sounds like an updated 80-ies score... Still I regard Tyler one of the most talented composers of the younger generation.
  12. T-rex was depicted as an aquatic species.
  13. It's much better than this trailer was Actually, I cannot stop watching it...
  14. Talk about over-analysis. It's far too early to start calling "homage" and go into such "in-depth interpretation". I am pleased that we're finally hearing something from Zimmer in the major key though. Well I completely agree with this analysis.
  15. Guys I am suprised as well It might turn out much more in the vein of the old movies then we think. Clearly this new trailer was inspired by the old trailers, even the music reminds of "The Planet Krypton". As to the music, I would never have thought it would be able to excite me, after JWs score, but yet it does! It even sounds as an ode to JW's Superman March, with the key of C major, the rising 5th, the traditional trumpets. Also the percussion works very well (reminds of the JW ostinato), as well as the 8/4 time signature. I am positive this might work out after all!
  16. He still looks abit like a high school kid dressed up as Supes. Anyway, the colors start to look brighter, and Amy Adams looks very good
  17. Possibly. But it bothered me when I watched the movie (back then at least). I think they should have shown some more shots of the area to get a better understanidng of the environment. Why not show those stairs or the maintenance infrastructure to have some continuity in the movie. My guess is they did shoot some material but edited it out.
  18. I see, thanks guys. I thought he was referring to function or something.
  19. yes, that's what Ludwig said more or less.. Ah ok i see...I didn't exactly get the "V4/3" though.
  20. Isn't it just the V7/V? With the G as part of a V7 which is not harmonised.
  21. I think the supes costume is the worst, I dont really care about the rest. If only they would have given him his underpants. Anyway they can always CGI them in for the dvd release or the SE, if the critics are bad enough. This is a Superman costume as it appears in the current comic books: Karol I could live with that. At least the colors are bright also. LOL I am afraid you think I always am. Are you being serious here? Draw your own conclusions.
