  1. Very sad to hear about the news today. But since all flights and hotels were booked anyway, I'm still going to both London and Vienna. We should have a meetup outside the Musikverein at the time of the concert and do some a capella version of one of John's tracks or something. Or just go drown our sorrows in a nearby tavern.
  2. Oh, right. It was the Dutch Philharmonic. Still, my point about the programme stands.
  3. At least they didn't resent it so much they felt the need to program some Holst, Korngold, Wagner and Stravinsky in between their Star Wars acts, like the Concertgebouworkest did last year.
  4. I'll be there. Sadly, my +1 can't make it. We hope to see some of you in Vienna the week after!
  5. It was when it was performed in Amsterdam. I guess I'll never get to hear the unused approach of the AT-AT walkers live.
  6. So... Is that a larger version of the veil that ends up swallowing Sirius Black in OotP?
  7. It's the other way around here. Still hoping for this to come to The Netherlands (or Belgium). But I've already got my tickets for ESB in concert next year!
  8. Indeed. Perhaps we should just meet up in the lobby afterwards and go for an afternoon drink.
  9. I don't think I'll have time to do so. Perhaps one of our Austrian members could do so?
  10. I'm trying and hoping it will all work out. Whatever happens, I will be at the first Vienna concert the weekend after.
  11. Much to my disappointment, it's looking very much like I will not be able to attend the London concert. If this is indeed the case, I'll have two tickets to sell to whoever is fortunate enough to be able to go.
  12. At least it wasn't hysterically in every scene. I love ToD, btw. But man, 1941 is a train wreck.
  13. After seeing 1941, I feel Kate Capshaw is forever absolved from getting shit for her screamy performance in Temple of Doom. That must have been all Spielberg's direction.
  14. 1941 Jesus Christ. I knew this wasn't good, but I never thought it was this bad. What a godawful piece of noise this is. 😲
  15. Awesome! Congratulations! Will you be playing the Binary Sunset solo?
  16. I think I like the alternate even more. It is less restrained than the final version and just goes straight to the heartstrings.
  17. I should have picked up that Widescreen VHS of TPM I saw at Blokker once. It was only five Euros and it would have been my only chance to own a legitimate widescreen copy of the original cut. Oh well. Wouldn't have been able to play it by now anyway.
  18. It did mean they played the 20th Century Fox Fanfare at the start of Titanic Live here. People loudly applauded hearing that live. A bit of a jarring transition, going from applause to the somber opening of Titanic's score.
  19. I guess it's because Disney caters to the average crowd, not the specialty market. The average crowd doesn't even know there's such a thing as expanded releases, album re-recordings or unreleased music.
  20. That sounds amazing. Kudos to the orchestra for making it through such a marathon session!
  21. I love M:I2 more with each viewing. In a so-bad-it's-good kind of way. It's so ridiculously misguided.
