  1. Bruce Marshall (Kritzerland) on FSM is claiming that it's WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? The film is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year. So it could be it. Disc 3 is probably the various Roger Rabbit shorts by Broughton. Oh!! I now remember reading a clue that Doug Fake dropped about working on a favorite Broughton subject a while back. So this mammoth set could be....
  2. When it finally comes, It will be funny when we realize we have been dancing around it along. It would be something in front of us and yet we couldn't see. Waiting for those clues too..its quite a head scratcher..No?
  3. At times like these its easy to get infatuated with hopes of MULAN, WILLOW etc. I 'm not sure if we can call Roger Rabbit an action packed since its half animated/live action but its an anniversary year. We will need more clues from Doug/Roger before we can take clean shot. Oh well.. back to the drawing board...!
  4. Initially I was thinking MIGHTY JOE YOUNG But now I'm beginning to think that this might be the long rumored WILLOW. There were some very good discussion points at a thread at Intrada. After Troy, Shogun, Waxman, Robin Hood this could be it. Finger Crossed. http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7612&hilit=Willow
  5. I wish it was MULAN but unlikely since that title was an exclusive to Disney Legacy series.
  6. The Next Intrada release will be a 3CD set featuring an action packed score from Disney! Some discussion going on with Roger Feigelson on a thread about Disney titles In the Suggestion Box Intrada forum.
  7. The FSM version is by far the best and dynamic sounding set available today because it uses better 6 track sources than the one used by Rhino. Some compression and cleanup was used I believe which may be the result it sounds a bit dry at times and I do remember reading from Remixing engineer Chris Malone article on his website (I've posted the link below) where he discusses its pros and cons in depth. If they plan to reissue the album as a standalone 3CD set this year (on its 40th Anniversary) I would expect that they would further tweak the mix and improve using more groundbreaking technology at their disposal today. As for the RSNO recording:I love it.The Tempos are just right. And Its one their better recordings in the series and Debney takes certain cues to new heights. The 32 bit digital recording is quite impressive and if you have superior hi-fi system than its going to sound tremendous. http://www.malonedigital.com/superman.htm#.WlhawLyWaig
  8. Agreed. My Two and half year old son going on three can hum parts of The Main Title and Imperial March too! And after watching me watch Williams videos conducting on screen does the same when he sees me playing the music. Williams music truly transcending to a new generation.
  9. http://variety.com/2018/film/news/mark-hamill-on-star-wars-music-composer-john-williams-1202659494/ John Burlingame did another write up on John Williams and this time talked to STAR WARS actor Mark Hamill. What was supposed to be a five minute chat ended up in much longer interview that it warranted a new spin off article to what Jon did yesterday. After reading this I sent this message to Jon Burlingame: 'He is the entire cast ' What a great and humble way of (showing) respect to our Maestro: Williams. I'm so moved. And it appears that the same quote left Jon Burlingame in quite an awe. He responded back to me: "I was so taken with these thoughts that I felt I simply had to write a separate story. The plan had only been to get him on the phone for five minutes to confirm what I had heard about his admiration for the Maestro. But boy, that last quote sealed it for me"
  10. When Maestro Williams completes the 9th film- it will be quite an achievement completing a journey that began in 1977 and ending in 2019. Quite a staggering amount of work. They should just give him another OSCAR just for that alone !
  11. Finally we are reading some post LAST JEDI feedback in more depth. Hope there will be more coverage on video and hoping Williams nabs both films for an Oscar nomination each.
  12. Thanks. I was so thrilled I didn't type it correctly. But fixed it now.
  13. Great news. John Williams officially confirms to John Burlingame in his new detailed interview to Variety. Read below and rejoice! (Thanks to Mike Matessino for the alert) http://variety.com/2018/music/awards/john-williams-could-set-oscar-record-1202658996/
  14. Here is somewhat compiled list of films having Anniversaries being discussed at bluray.com forum. And oh! Its the 35th Anniversary of RETURN OF THE JEDI too. check out the link: But its not complete list. http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?p=14528517
  15. Don't forget the various DVD's and Blu rays. And a 4K variant of it for sure. And with Jurassic World 2 coming out this year- it would be nice if they can also release JURASSIC PARK 3 expansion this year by mid year or early? I strongly suspect this might be a re-issue of a an important VIP OOP release being triggered for some common good. A super nice initiative from the LLL team.
  16. Somebody should list down all the Anniversaries this year! oh -one 40th Anniversary coming this year is Superman-The Movie!
  17. I was expecting LLL to do it. However, I'm surprised the artwork cover is pretty straight forward the same as its original incarnation and no secondary alternate is provided this time.
  18. Terrific Release! Now the hard part: ordering and waiting....!
  19. At 110 minutes plus this new presentation would give the score a whole new life. Looking forward to it ie. I really hope it is ROBIN HOOD and not THE THREE MUSKETEERS. It would be quite a shock if it turned out to be the latter. 😁
  20. I re-watched the film a few weeks ago and found the score and film to be quite appealing and all the unreleased cues are highly anticipated too. It's actually one of the most requested expanded title by film music aficionados and fans of the film.
  21. More tantalizing news here from Doug Fake on his Doug's Corner Intrada thread ! 1/7/2018With our first new release for 2018 arriving this Tuesday, January 9th, listeners will finally be able to own and enjoy one of the really epic film scores of the 90’s, not just as the score portion of a popular CD from the day but as an expanded 2-CD score release with nearly 110 minutes of incredibly exciting music, more than half of it previously unreleased! With another 20-plus minutes of alternate music, this one is a fabulous addition to your action and adventure film score library. And, it’s just great music - period. Watch for artwork and contents here Monday evening - January 8 - along with sound samples to savor.
  22. Roger Feigelson left a clue about an upcoming album without a popular theme song which would upset fans. I think it was in the FSM LLL TITANIC thread. That clue and Roger's clue leads me to strongly believe that this is going to be Michael Kamen's ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES (without Bryan Adam's hit song) EDIT: it was Roger Feigelson and NOT Doug Fake who left the clue for the Jan/Feb release. Here is the exact quote: I guess Intrada will get some heat when we release an expanded score in January/February without the signature vocal as well. But it couldn't be licensed but there will be lots of new score on it. I'll brace myself for the complaints!-Roger Feigelson
  23. Yes terrific analysis from Doug Adams here. I wonder if there is more to this than just the podcast ? A new book perhaps? or A new book to coincide with the definitive reissues of all the 4 film scores from the Indy saga just in time for the 5th Indy movie.... now that would be something to behold ?
  24. I have been agonising over LEVIATHAN reissue for years now. There are numerous not so expensive copies floating around but not sure if I want to take the bait for it. Lets hope this comes out either from Quartet or Intrada (if not Varese) Also SUPERGIRL is another mystery as to why a new remaster with the complete score (and numerous alternates as on the Varese cd) is not yet out. Both The Silva and Varese albums are loooong OOP.
