  1. Call of the Champions. But that wasn't for a film, so I voted for TPM. (BTW, you could've also included Rosewood.)
  2. What if it was somehow used in ROTS (possibly as a finale) in a minor note, much like the TPM finale/Emperor's theme? Come to think of it, it would sound a little like Elfman's Batman theme if it was like that.
  3. Tough call, but I think my pick is "Harry's Wonderous World."
  4. Yeah, all I'm hearing is some screeching violins. Where's my JW?
  5. I'm hearing Star Wars right now. I haven't missed Soundings, have I?
  6. I thought I heard somewhere that the re-use fees were keeping them from releasing it.
  7. Okay, I have them both recorded, but I'm having some trouble putting them online for downloading. I'll try to have something figured out by tomorrow.
  8. It sounds like it could've been written by Marco Beltrami if it had some percussion. But that's just a wild guess. I really don't know. Sorry.
  9. Well, well. Guess what I did? 1. Gunbarrel/James and Felix on Their Way to the Church (Track 6 0:00-1:10) 2. Sanchez is in the Bahamas (Track 7 0:00-1:18) 3. Chasing Sanchez (Track 8) 4. Let's Go Fishing (Track 10 1:13-3:09) 5. Here Comes the Groom (Track 6 3:01-End) 6. Main Title: Licence to Kill (Performed by Gladys Knight) (Track 1) 7. Wedding Party (Performed by Ivory) (Track 2) 8. Sanchez Escapes (Track 6 1:32-3:00) 9. Leiter Gets Lighter (Track 7 1:19-End) 10. He Disagreed with Something That Ate Him (Track 9 3:58-End) 11. Licence Revoked (Track 10 0:00-1:13) 12. Underwater Mission and Catching a Flight (Track 10 3:09-End) 13. Dirty Love (Performed by Tim Feehan) (Track 3) 14. Bond and Pam Escape (Track 4 1:00-1:47) 15. Pam (Track 4 1:47-End) 16. Ninja (Track 9 0:00-3:57) 17. Bond Gets Away (Track 4 0:00-1:00) 18. Free Fuel (Alternate) (Track 6 1:10-1:31) 19. If You Asked Me To (Performed by Patti LaBelle) (Track 5) If you don't want to edit at all, here's the most chronological track order: 6, 8, 1, 2, 7, 10, 3, 4, 9, 5 However, the CD tracks are just sloppily thrown together. Even with Windows Sound Recorder you could probably edit some of these. Now, for some notes: There is no tracked music on this list. However, the film is full of it. Sometimes parts of cues are tracked more than once. You may notice that the whole truck chase sequence is missing from this list. That's because all of the music is either tracked or unreleased (but moslty tracked). I do have a list with most of the tracked music on it (although there are a few question marks on parts) if anyone would like to see it. But some of the edits are crazy. You'd almost think George Lucas had a hand in it. Yes, 14 and 15 are consecutive, but they are two separate cues. There's some space between them in the film, and I think a little space on the album works better too. This list is not an exact list of how the music appears in the film. The order is the same, but some cues are shortened, looped, or tracked in the film. Rather, this is more of a representation of how Kamen probably intended it. There's one thing I still don't like about this arrangement: there's not a good sense of closure at the end of the score (which was still a problem before, with the CD arrangement). The song there helps, but I'd like for the score on the album to end differently. Sanchez's death and the two "Pam" cues in the film would have finished it perfectly, but these cues weren't put on the CD. Speaking on unreleased music... There is a lot of unreleased music. Much of it is thematic material: the Spanish guitar that represents Sanchez, the mushy music that goes with Pam, and a lot of good usage of the Bond theme on the guitar that went with many of James' scenes. I wish MCA or whoever owns this music would relize that it's not to late to release a 15th anniversary edition of this score on CD! The bad edits and omissions make the current CD quite a stinker (as an album). But until we get a better release, I hope this list makes the score a little more enjoyable. ETA (in April 2010): Fixed the poster image. Also, here's a couple of corrections from six years in the future. I'd also like to add that I like The Cat's name of "Escaping Wavekrest" for number 12 up there a lot better than mine. And I apologize for sounding like a huge dork back then.
  10. Just so you know, I haven't forgotten. I just haven't had a chance to record those yet. I'll try to do it by this weekend.
  11. Here's the best I could do: Poor Lazenby.
  12. Am I the only one who's heard about the prequel film? Here: http://trekweb.com/stories.php?aid=40ee07cc1a12b There you go.
  13. Are you talking about this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW I'd never pay $200 for any CD. But that's just me. If it's worth it to you, go for it.
  14. The next Trek film is gonna be a prequel. How far back, I don't know. I don't know about Horner. His scores back then were good for the films back then, but I don't know about now.
  15. I agree. That would totally not fit the mood/tone of the scene.
  16. I'd been wondering why there wasn't a thread here all day. I never thought to see if there was a stickey.
  17. (I posted this earlier at the TFN forum.) I was watching TV today and had just tuned in to watch Star Trek: TNG. When the theme came on, I listened and admired it as I often do. Then during a commercial I got online and went to the IMDb and saw the news that Jerry Goldsmith had passed away. R.I.P., Jerry. My first JG tribute listen today: "End Credits" fron Star Trek: First Contact. I was thinking the same thing. There must be quite a concert going on up there today.
  18. I was reading that thread over at the HTF just today, and I just so happened to see you there talking about this, Neil. I remember reading that on TFN when it came out. I hope that there's not that much music that is replaced. However, there are a few scenes in ANH that didn't have ANY music before that might be better with music, like some of the pre-battle Yavin stuff.
  19. That makes sense. I've only seen it once.
  20. That was easy. Superman! There are some really great ones in there (Batman, for example), but Superman is simply the best.
  21. Perhaps I got it but just wasn't positive so I thought I'd point it out that way before I started laughing at it. Ha-HA! LOL Aw, nevermind.
  22. You mean regularly? No, I think JW's music was just used that once. Laurence Rosenthal wrote a theme for the series that he sometimes incorperated into his score, but (as far as I know) McNeely never used it. As for the episode(s) with Williams' music, I'm pretty sure McNeely adapted it, but there's a chance it may have been tracked. I've only seen it once, so I'm not positive. And for Ewoks, it had a theme song just like Droids. In fact, I think it had two themes (because they changed it after one or two seasons).
