BLUMENKOHL 1,068
It's time to grade "Beowulf" by Alan Silvestri. You've seen the movie and heard the score, and now it's time to rate the score. I give it a C-. It's slightly satisfactory, pretty generic. So time to test out the brand new stat system...all the data from the polls is now available via the new system...Give it a whirl...it'll keep seeing improvements over time. Ray Barnsbury 8
I second your C-. Solid enough, but doesn't amount to anything very interesting.

SomeNewGuy 0
C. Acceptable, but not a whole lot more than that.
Richard Penna 3,694
C-Quite disappointing, even for Silvestri.
bondo 33
B+I'm a sucker for those Silvestri-isms, particularly the first two minutes of Beowulf Slays the Beast.
Neimoidian 14
C-. Enjoyable at times, but disappointing overall.
Henry B 50
B-I must say that "A Hero Comes Home" couldn't sound more generic, yet it is memorable and performed with great gusto (both versions). Silvestri did a great job tapping those pop-medieval chord progressions. Yeah, pop-medieval. I can't help but be moved by the song's vague suggestions of heroism. In fact, nothing puts this McScore above those by Hans Zimmer save for a higher standard of orchestration. But I like it."Gently As She Goes" is very nice, except for the stupid "la la la" bridge section. And the ridiculously close miking of the performer introduces some uncomfortable sounds, doesn't it?
