SouthPark's save RAIDERS episode aired again last night.

Don't know if any of you got to see it last night, but it was quite funny.

I have only in the last 6 months or so become a fan of this very unPC show. That is what caught my interest is the un PC nature of it.

Well last night was the episode from last spring where after seeing the special edition of E.T. the kids decide to form a club to stop directors from ruining their films, by special editions.

The timing of this episode coinciding with the debate over the name change on the DVD of Raiders is quite nice.

In the episode Cartman, and gang, attempt to steal the original print of Raiders to preserve it so that it could not be altered. Amazingly Lucas was not the main villian, Spielberg was. The ending of the episode is shot for shot the ending of the film.

In the end Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, and Steven Spielberg all die exactly the same deaths as the three in Raiders. Coppola's head is sucked in, Lucas's face melts, and Spielberg's head explodes.

It also pointed out that Lucas led the crusade to stop colorization, but now he changes his films at a whim.

Good stuff.

Very funny episode.  I hope it had a positive influence on certain filmmakers.

Neil

I believe it will, this being opposite day and all.

Well if this is opposite day then it will have an effect on the filmmakers you just said so. ;)

of course everything I said should be in reverse. I would go something like this....

Well if this is not opposite day then it will not have an effect on the filmmakers you just didn't say that it would not. :)

I don't think it is possible to go ANY LOWER THAN LUCAS!!!!

Greedo shooting first was a new low that reached the very pit of the cavern of dung! :)

The latest rumor I've heard is that Lucas is now unsatisfied with the updated effects in the SE's and would like to re-do them again.

Well Lucas wants all the films at the same quality level so he will just downgrade the originals until he thinks they are as good as the prequels.

Lucas you genius!! ;)

This is an opportunity to get the SE's fixed. The CGI in the SE's needs to be redone.... and the movies needed to be changed a little to restore them to the level of quality that the original versions had. Perhaps he could get the SE's right this time. Too bad he's only likely to make them worse.

:)

That means soon there will be people starting up internet polls and petitions to get Lucas to preserve the integrity of the 1997 SE's.

Stefancos-   :)

Hell, what difference does it make now?

There are already screwed with. May as well mess em up some more..

-Rogue Leader who would REALLY like to see the ORIGINAL SW films on DVD.

Did they show anything extra when Raiders was on NBC? I know sometimes they have little DVD-documentary-like stuff after commercials breaks, they did with Caddyshack one time or some movie like that.

I must admit, I prefer my comeody is little less.... dirty. I mean they have a talking poo and high school kids running after porno tapes.
