Tom 4,673
More care went into those arrangements than with that Martin Grubinger thing. Dr. Know
Mr. Hooper 1,804
I'd forgotten that Williams was a son of Leutonia! I bet he'd love a taste of Mrs. Vilve Yachke's cabbage rolls and coffee... I grew up watching SCTV and totally forgot about this. Thanks! 👍 Dr. Know
Smeltington 1,441
They didn't play much actual music. And the only one I could recognize was Star Wars.
Mr. Hooper 1,804
I love the tuba guy playing Jaws—that quickly segues into a traditional polka! lol
Smeltington 1,441
It sounded like they reduced the famous two notes down even further to just one note...

Smeltington 1,441
Did their Superman actually have any resemblance to the real thing though? I listened to it a couple times and thought maybe I was just too stupid to figure it out. Even the maestro himself never wrote such a far-out theme variation! Mr. Hooper 1,804
Not much resemblance at all. Buried in polka goodness. This parody rings true to any Canadian who remembers watching "Polka Time" (previously called "Gemutlichkeit" and "A Night Out") in the '70s and '80s. Smeltington 1,441
Love it! I need to get some polka in my music library, seriously though.

Smeltington 1,441
Oooh, instrumentals, that should be good. Gonna see if I can find that. Does he still perform??
Tom 4,673
I suppose I have to ask this: does anyone find the skit even remotely funny? Dr. Know
Tom 4,673
So, I just did my annual watch of Home Alone. Is the whole John Candy Polka thing a call back to this character?
Tydirium 1,167
I was just wondering the same thing!
