SturgisPodmore 0
What two tracks are most Williams-esque? most Howard-esque? most Goldsmith-esque?Obviously, the two tracks selected for each composer must be composed by the composer for which you select them (that sounded stupid, didn't it?).Tracks that fade into each other count as one.Copy this into your replies:JOHN WILLIAMS:JERRY GOLDSMITH:JAMES NEWTON HOWARD:ALAN SILVESTRI:DANNY ELFMAN:JAMES HORNER:HOWARD SHORE:PATRICK DOYLE:MICHAEL GIACCHINO:Here's mine (I don't know all of these composers that well, but I tried).JOHN WILLIAMS: "A Window to the Past" and "Adventures on Earth"JERRY GOLDSMITH: "The Generals Suite" and "Lionheart" (both from Goldsmith Conducts Goldsmith)JAMES NEWTON HOWARD: "The Hand of Fate - Parts 1 and 2" and "Flying"ALAN SILVESTRI: "Forest Gump" and "What Lies Beneath" (both from the Zemeckis/Silvestri Collection)DANNY ELFMAN: "Birth of a Penguin - Parts 1 and 2" and "Sandra's Theme"JAMES HORNER: "End Credits" (from Land Before Time) and...I don't really know that much HornerHOWARD SHORE: "The Riders of Rohan" and "The Breaking of the Fellowship"PATRICK DOYLE: I know virtually nothing about this guy  MICHAEL GIACCHINO: Ditto, but I like "Operation Market Garden" and "Manor House Rally" from Medal of Honor: Frontline I hope I haven't left anyone major out.~Sturgis

John McClane 1
Oh, well...I remember this nice thread when I was off, and when I came back last Sunday, I forgot to add my reply here. So, I do now!Just 2 is so damn difficult! So, regarding John Williams, I agree with Marc and Steef about Superman March and Journey to the Island, so I'm gonna choose two different cues. But he has so different styles too, for example, happy music like Prologue from Hook or dramatic cues like Theme from Shindler's List.Let's go:JOHN WILLIAMS: The Raiders March and The Imperial March.JERRY GOLDSMITH: Star Trek TMP Main Title and The Mummy Main Title. Damn. I can't left out the Patton Main Title.JAMES NEWTON HOWARD: The Hands of Fate (parts 1-2) from Signs (thriller cues) and We seek Bugs Bunny or Alien transformation from Space Jam.ALAN SILVESTRI: The Feather Theme (just to name one) from Forrest Gump, My first bus ride from The Mummy Returns (as action cue) and Wilson, I'm sorry from Cast Away (as dramatic cue).DANNY ELFMAN: Introduction from Edward Scissorshands and Main Theme from Batman. Hey, The Simpsons Main Theme! JAMES HORNER: Hymn to the sea from Titanic (or call it My heart will go on Instrumental...)MARK MACINA: Theme from Bad BoysMICHAEL KAMEN: Robin Hood: Prices of Thieves Main Title and anything from the Die Hard trilogy.ENNIO MORRICONE: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly and A Fistful of Dollars.Oh, and for the Newman family...check out Disney Pixar's movies. And finally, last but not least...MARSHALL MATHERS: Lose yourself from 8 Mile (hey, this man had an Oscar award for this). :spiny: 8O :spiny:
