Is My Friend A Liar?

Okay everyone, I need your help on this one.

I've had this friend for years who's a bit of a "Big Fish," a one-upper, who's always trying to top whatever I'm saying/doing (we all know one). Anyways, he grew up in the Chicago area, and he said that John Williams' wife was involved with his high school band (!) and (of course) my friend was a member of the band. He related his story about how once they were heading for a special concert and John Williams was riding in the back of the school bus with them. Oh boy.

So, he's about 4 years younger than me, which means he would've been in High School in the Chicago area in the late '80s/early '90s.

Does anyone have any info that could disprove this guy? Is John Williams' wife involved in the arts? I would LOVE to be able to tell him that he's full of it!

Good friendship. ;)

I know people like that, too. :P

What about Barbara, was she involved in the arts?

LIER!

Or maybe he was just confused with the guitarist.

Neil

Ha! That would be a nice out for him. "What? Oh, yeah, not that Star Wars John Williams, but the guitar guy..."

This is where a nice thorough biography of John Williams would have come in handy (HINT HINT). Man, can somebody PLEASE write that one?!

"Williams is not allowed to die."

Are we going to preserve him for display, like Lenin?

Perhaps in a Mausoleum outside the Hollywood Bowl?

$50 per viewing (children under 14 must pay double)

Barbara Ruick Williams was an actress and singer. Willams and Barabra met in LA as kids, and they had a band were they palyed together.

After Ruick ended her first marriage, they pobablymet again and ended up together.

Ruick could be seen in the film version of Carousel (were Williams worked as one of the orchestrators). She is also part of the cast of "Oh Kay", on a fifties Columbia recording.

And as for your friend... Yeah, we all know one of those...

I know Universal charges $100 for a one-way ticket to see Mother in our fruit cellar. I get 100% commission on all ticket sales.

Hitch :music: about to reach his 1000th post.
