publicist 4,650 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 No question about that. Though i'm not keen on Rózsa's dense action music in either incarnation. The themes are gorgeous, though.
Romão 2,473 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Yes, and there's a plethora of them in this thing
Jay 46,244 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 James Fitzpatrick says:Release Date of next Prometheus John Barry produced by Tadlow Music is NOV 25th...official announcement on NOV 18th...http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=105435&forumID=1
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 John Barry didn't score Prometheus. He had already passed away!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I know no one believes this, but weeks go by where I dont think about post count at all.
Wojo 2,458 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Tapatalk allows me to totally ignore post count. I have to hunt for them. I never realized Stef's odometer rolled past 70.
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Only weeks? He didn't say how many weeks. (He also didn't say if it was an integer number)

Jay 46,244 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 And the title is "The Betsy" http://www.tadlowmusic.com/2014/11/the-betsy/http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm/ID/28254/THE-BETSY/

Incanus 5,890 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 It is interesting how these re-recordings and the complete releases of the original tracks seem to coincide with some of these major titles, in Tadlow's case The Conan the Barbarian and The Obsession. I know it is pure chance but let's hope that doesn't scare Fitzpatrick from re-recording JWs Dracula at some point.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Conan The Barbarian came out quite a while after the Tadlow though.
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I bought both because the score is that important to me.
Incanus 5,890 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Conan The Barbarian came out quite a while after the Tadlow though.Yeah I remember there was talk of the release of the original tracks during the time the re-recording came out.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I don't remember that.
Incanus 5,890 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Oh I had forgotten that Fitzpatrick planned the re-record The Blue Max but then LLL set came out so they didn't do it.
publicist 4,650 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Why doesn't Tadlow make a list of possible candidates and send it to all competitors? it can't be so hard to reach out to 10 small companies to inquire about upcoming releases so that they don't run into these inconveniences all the time.
Incanus 5,890 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Why doesn't Tadlow make a list of possible candidates and send it to all competitors? it can't be so hard to reach out to 10 small companies to inquire about upcoming releases so that they don't run into these inconveniences all the time.Sounds like a pretty good and simple idea. Perhaps too simple for them to think about it.
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Probably because at the end of the day, they're all competitors? Each company is trying to run a profitable business and doesn't want to show their entire hand.
publicist 4,650 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 So if you're Mr. Varése or Mr. LLL, you deny answering a simple question with 'better don't do these 3 things right now, we're negotiating' because...? What disadvantage could stem from that?
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Oh I had forgotten that Fitzpatrick planned the re-record The Blue Max but then LLL set came out so they didn't do it. I have all three releases of the score and I'd pay premium price for a Tadlow recording.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 It will never happen!
Jay 46,244 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 James Fitzpatrick says, about their version of Obsession:Final mixing of new recording next week in 5.1 etc... All the sleeve notes are done....but I am on the lookout for some decent quality photos of Bernard Herrmann...if anyone has any please email me at tadlowmusic@hotmail.com http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=108266&forumID=1&archive=0
publicist 4,650 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 It seems worth mentioning that the long-rumored re-recording of Jerry Goldsmith's BLUE MAX is about to come upon us:
Jay 46,244 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Here's a larger version of the pic that pub posted:https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/t31.0-8/11157543_780341768728382_1261424148854526738_o.jpgAnd here's the other pic that went up at the same time, kinda funnyhttps://www.facebook.com/tadlowmusic2/posts/660058984128100I think The Blue Max will be the first Tadlow Recording I will buy!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Why did they kill Karl Pilkington?
Jay 46,244 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 James Fitzpatrick has revealed that they will also re-record Jerry Goldsmith's Inchonhttps://www.facebook.com/tadlowmusic/videos/782124341883458/
Jilal 681 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Great news - the original recording is subpar. The score definitely deserves better.
crocodile 9,724 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 James Fitzpatrick has revealed that they will also re-record Jerry Goldsmith's Inchonhttps://www.facebook.com/tadlowmusic/videos/782124341883458/That is awesome news! The score is really good, even if it seems like Patton and Tora! Tora! Tora! in one, The first time I heard, it was my wish to have it got a re-recording. It needs one badly!Karol
Incanus 5,890 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Dracula! Give us John Williams' Dracula Mr. Fitzpatrick!
crocodile 9,724 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I'm sure he's aware of the demand for this one.Karol
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I'll absolutely buy Blue Max, of course. I'd been wishing (without much hope initially) for it ever since they started recording Goldsmith.
Incanus 5,890 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Yeah I relatively recently bought the LLL release but will certainly buy this as well.
publicist 4,650 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I just hope the recording is just a wee bit less hot in the mastering department. INCHON would be great though if more Goldsmith, i'd prefer LIONHEART...
Incanus 5,890 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Yes, another one for the wish list. Lionheart!
crocodile 9,724 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I agree, of course. But Inchon needed this more urgently.Karol
Wojo 2,458 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I skipped the LLL Blue Max because the Intrada was enough for me, but I might get a Tadlow rerecording.
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I just hope the recording is just a wee bit less hot in the mastering department. INCHON would be great though if more Goldsmith, i'd prefer LIONHEART... And Rambo III. I skipped the LLL Blue Max because the Intrada was enough for me, but I might get a Tadlow rerecording. The LLL is a significant improvement where sound quality is concerned.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I really wonder if the orchestra can handle the intended fury of rambo III
Jay 46,244 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 TheGreyPilgrim will tell you which orchestra can
Wojo 2,458 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I'm glad, Marian, for those who wanted to double dip or just discovered it with the LLL. I couldn't.
Jay 46,244 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I sold my (still sealed) Intrada The Blue Max off for a profit as soon as LLL announced their version. That was a freebie.
Wojo 2,458 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 If I need the sonic upgrade, I know what to do.
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I really wonder if the orchestra can handle the intended fury of rambo III Surely better than the orchestra that performed the OST.
